It's an award show. It's a BS one, if you ask me. Far Cry wasn't even nominated for anything. Although I suppose even a stopped watch is right once a day; HL2 really deserves all the awards it can get.

Far Cry wasn't nominated because it's not that great of a game.

TRUE DAT they deserved it man how long did they work on it now they just need to beat there on set record... 50 + game of the year awards :D VALVE HOMEBOYS FOR LIFE!!! :D

I wonder who the outstanding male character was. Eli?

I bet its Breen. He was my favourite character in the game (performance-wise), really well done. Awesome voice acting and dialog, facial expressions, etc.

Maybe Gordon? The best mute ever to exist in gaming history!!!! :p

Male performance, could have been many, Michael Shapiro did a good job on two unique voices. However I think Robert Culp did a great job as Breen.

i like the gmans voice its very SMOKY MAN from the xfiles like :D intreaging dun u think mulder skully an gordon should work togather on like a tv spine-off show lol

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences? ...sounds smart. Considering the amount of experience and knowledge that go into the voting I'd say this is probably the most meaningful award I know of (of course, being a HL2 fan, I would say that).

One problem I have, though, is that they don't give a general outline of why a game was nominated or awarded. I personally think that the industry would benefit from more open discussion over what makes a game good or bad (or great). If the AIAS really are as experienced as they look to be, they should spread their knowledge, arguments and ideas for the better of the industry. It seems to me that right now, the majority of 'legitimate reviewers' are no more qualified than the average person on these or any other forums.

They are THE most meaningful awards. Each year AIAS nominations and awards are spot on. HL2 truly deserved this, it is a masterpiece.
