If you didn't get the airboat, how did you get past the first radioactive puddle and reach the ramp?

i just ran across the radioactive puddle until i got all the way to the ramp then i tried to ride the blue barrells across lol

You did that the hard way....

At the end of rout kanal or at the beginning of water hazard you should have run into a resistance member fueling up the air boat for you… might want to load a previous save. You will need the air boat to complete some jumps so don’t try and go it alone. The air boat was located at the last part of the head crab shelling scene.
It would be nice if you had kept this on the same thread you started with also…

yeah the part where the last headcrab shelling is, you could go right, into radioactive goo, or go left, into a cave type thing where you get the boat

try spawning the airboat in deathmatch. wait for someone to get into it and then slap it with the gravity gun. the boat'll launch into the air and then (while it's up there) hit it with the rocket launcher. satisfaction in it's most digital form.

One thing I always thought was funny about the airboat though is that apparently Gordon is steering with his knees or something. You can plainly see the handlebars in front of you...but no hands on them? Seems an odd thing to leave out. Whatever, still fun.

Great... thanks to that last remark now whenever I drive the airboat I feel like a drunken teenage sorority girl going "Wooooooo!" with my hands in the air as I swerve around using my knees... and my shirt pulled up above my breasts.

First Post !!

Here's some places I've managed to get to with the air boat - good times lol

hit the right bank full speed and turn up and you land here - unfortunately you hit an invisible wall and can't get to the sewers which was what I was hoping for, however you can see the three head tag on the left which is the first place it shows up I think; if you keep the throttle on, the airboat creeps up the wall and then if you jump out you get stuck in mid air and can see some broken and missing textures over the top of the wall (while the helicopter is just out of line of sight so its not shooting you, but it keeps dumping mines behind you), silly stuff

haunted by the sound of those damn windchimes I spent a bunch of time here trying to find them by getting up to these spots

build a pile of stuff at the bottom, shoot out the beam holding the the big steel plate and if it falls just right you can make a ramp and thread the needle full speed and jump up to the ledge where the crabs fell from

push a few things infront of the wreck against the wall and hit it full speed and crank hard right and you can flip up here - there was actually a box of magnum shells up here, but nowhere else to go

Battlefield Series does the same thing (steering wheels, etc). Doesn't bug me any.
