Airsoft?!?!

What's with airsoft? For the price of some of those plastic pellet guns you could get some real guns. A romanian AK47 only goes for about $330 here in the states. MUCH MUCH more satisfying when you pull the trigger.
Yeah. It's SO much more fun to shoot your friends with REAL guns! I mean, who doesn't want to kill people? :P

MUCH MUCH more satisfying when you pull the trigger. I've got an Rock River Arms M4, Romanian AK, Bulgarian AK, Saiga 12 Shottie, HK91 clone, couple of .22's, a yugo 8mm mauser, and like 5 pistols. I don't see how an inaccurate plastic pellet shooter could compare. I'm going to the range first thing in the morning to do some plinking for a good 3 hrs. I guess ammo is a little expensive. I'm taking out 250rds 9mm, 300rds 5.56, 300rds 7.62X39, 100rds 7.62X51, and a crapload of .22lr. That's about $140 worth of pure happiness that'll last a couple of hours. Usually I don't take so much but I'm taking a couple of friends and providing all the ammo.

the fun in airsoft is being able to shoot up your friends. of course a real ak47 is going to be super fun to shoot, but its not like you can use it to shoot at people (well not in this country at least, go to pakistan or something)

and as for shooting around inside, i do it alot, even though i shouldent. ive taken many a bb to the face, luckily not the eye. all you need is some inexpensive safety googles. hell, i stole mine from the biology lab.

as for guns, all i can say is that you get what you pay for. obviously you shouldent start out with a 300 dollar gun, when the 20 dollar pistols will do fine for casual fun. and usually you wont get too far with department store airsofft guns, as they arent as good as quality as some guns that you can find online for the same price.

and one more thing...DO NOT, i repeat..DO NOT buy those full size automatic electric guns that cost around 40-60 dollars. they are junk and i could probably throw the bbs farther than they shoot. however, the 20 dollar mini automatics are very fun, and have good accuracy, and decent power (if you do casual airsofting, i wouldent reccomend them for a hardcore airsofter.)

SIGbastard, you may live in a country where you actually can purchase firearms like that, a lot of other people, including me, don't. So much for that.

Plus, I'm pretty sure you can't go out and shoot up some friends with your real firearms. It's a game you play with others. Like going to the shooting range with your friends and competing.

Hm, 50-60m maximum.

You know I tend to forget that not every country allows citizens to own firearms. Sorry for being an ass. You are right I can't shoot my friends up, but if the zombies ever come I'll be prepared damnit!!! jk

Ahh crap my dog just puked right in the middle of the floor. Gotta go clean that up :o .

It was on the news today that people want to ban replica guns in the UK because there's been loads of gun crime, use of imitation guns in robberies etc... problem is criminals will always be able to get hold of weapons anyway. :/

Not meaning to derail this thread or anything but its sort of related. I've been thinking of getting a decent gas powered gun, shoot halloween trick or treeters etc :P

It makes me so angry when I see that, its yet another cheap and easy way to make people happy, it doesn't tackle the problem.

They want to ban replicas, maybe, they don't do anything, they are kind of shit.

But what really got me, is that they wanted to ban sales of knives to under 18s, do they really think that kids would go into a shop to get a knife to stab someone?

The knife would come from moms kitchen drawer.

Banning airsoft guns would only piss a bunch of people off, there are people who want to enjoy airsoft weapons safely and responsibly, a better control of the sales of airsoft weapons? no, they must be banned.

How many things will be banned, before theres nothing left to ban, If I study martial arts, do I become dangerous? Am I no longer aloud to walk down the street?

You can take a weapon away from an idiot, but it won't stop them doing stupid things...

Yea it sucked. It was kinda weird I looked back at my dog as I heard him come into the room. He looked straight in my eyes, wagged his tail, and then ralphed all over the floor. He then wagged his tail and ran off. What a dumb F@%* mutt. He is a beagle and about as smart as a box of rocks. One time I was cleaning out my garage and had a coffe can full of used cooking oil that I had set on the floor (planning to throw it out later). Well I went inside and my Beagel knocked it over and consumed a large amount. He puked randomly for 2 days. I wouldn't let him in the house. The vet just told me to give him Pepto Bismol. The thing that really shows how stupid he really is is that he kept trying to go lap more grease up when I was cleaning the huge mess up. This was well after he had puked several times. He is completely house broken except for these 2 incidents of puking.

I have a boxer that will actually run to the hard tile floor in a bathroom or kitchen if he gets sick and no one is around to let him out. I don't know how he learned that but it would be nice if my box of rocks beagle would follow suit. This is not a common occurance BTW they are both pretty dang old so it's expected to have some occurance of sick dogs.

So I ended up buying a semi-automatic electric clear plastic handgun that shoots "Up to 175 fps." My friends got metal ones that you have to cock each shot, but they are far cooler looking. Even realistic clips.

The whole thing for me, including some sorta cheap protective glasses, was $45. Not bad for a fun toy.

We played, sorta. Not much running around, and no rules, we just counted how many times we each got hit, sort of, and stopped when we ran out (cuz mine was a bitch to reload). It was fun. I was a bit dissappointed, because their guns sort of sucked at shooting and veered off to the left or right, and went down quite quickly. Mine shot the best, but sometimes the pellet would go wayyyy up. Getting hit hardly hurt, although it leaves quite the mark for a bit, even with those slow guns.

Anyways, I've decided that I want to invest in a sorta-pro gun. I want one for around $150, a rifle-looking one, at least semi-automatic and electric with a charge-battery, but hopefully automatic too. It would be cool to look realistic and be made of some metal, but not neccesary. Some sort of easier reloading mechanism would be great, too. Around 300-400 fps would be fine, I think. And hopefully it won't shoot up or astray, right? So my question is, is that possible? And what is a good brand, or website, that I can order this sort of thing off of?

I'm also wondering about how you guys play? Do you play in the woods? What kind of rules do you play with, and how many people do you play with? How long does a single game run? Are you "dead" when you get shot once? What if you don't feel a shot? Do you do teams or what?

Lotso questions :P

I'm looking at the Tokyo Marui black desert eagle. Love the look, very heavy, 27 rounds is nice, 270 fps is good... I like it.

The question is if I want to blow 135 bucks on a bb gun...

Depends on what kind of bucks :D For Dollar and Euro it's cheap, for Pounds... well... not so cheap :p

eh... dollars. And I know it's cheap, but so am I.

Oh, and some of those airsoft revolvers are beastly (the Tanaka S&W M500 is 39 centimeters long). Of the revolvers, I think I like the TM Python 357 6" the most.

This gun made me pee my pants it is so cool: http://www.airsplat.com/N_589.htm I really want an m4a1, but I really don't want to spend like $300. That Tokyo Marui brand looks sooo nice.

I want one that is manufactured in Japan or something like that, cuz they seem to be the leading names. I could pay like $200, but they are all crossing that gap and it's bothering me. I haven't really gotten myself too many presents this year, though, but I am going to college this year...

By the way, I say you get the desert eagle. :D

eh... never heard of that company. Could be good, but I'd be careful... google some reviews or something.

oh, and that revolver wasn't even the right one. Apparent I linked it wrong. Anyway, it's the bottom gun at the Tokyo Marui gas guns page.
