Aloha,

Made this for school, took me about a day in total. The background with the skyscrapers was drawn in photoshop. The buildings were done in maya, added a basic texture and then painted over in photoshop.
Im thinking about adding a burning car in the foreground aswell as a holographic advertisment in the background but im not sure yet.
Crits more the welcome !

Very sexy!

Don't think the burning car is needed (unless you want to emphasis Akira's world more), but the advertisement might be nice.

That is awesome.

Big Akira fan here. If you can do some Ghost in the Shell stuff I'd cream my pants.

This looks excellent, you should make some more in this style.

The artwork in Akira rocks, even though it's a pretty old movie, the detail in the artwork still makes it better than some newer ones.

I absolutely hated Akira, yet that looks pretty awesome. The composition itself is great, as are the colors.

Putting a burning car in there would give the orange light on the buildings a source, which would tie in well, but it could also require you to change up the lighting a little bit if you put it too much in the foreground. If its put more in the midground, by that small, well lit wall then I think it could work nicely and not make a lot of work for you.

Also, the perspective strikes me as being off. When I look at the foreground buildings, and then the background ones, I feel like the background is rotated to the left, and it makes it feel a little wonky. One other thing is that you have two different styles going on in there. If its intended, then its cool, but if not, it seems like the foreground elements are in a hyper-realistic style, while the background has a flat anime-like style to it.

Aah thanks guys, good feedback : )

The perspectife is indeed a bit of, its because i put the 3D foreground ontop of it after i actually drew the background matte... But it's kinda too late to fix it but youre right.
As for having two different styles in the picture, it was intended, but maybe ill have too ad some lines in the foreground so that it wont differ to much.
Keep it coming guys, i need to make this one pretty !

This piece probably will give "the Ron" a hard-on! Just an inside joke, Dodo understands!
