Alchemy Wizard

the tool seems pretty neat, but I'm doing fairly well without it (90+ lvl of alchemy). To lvl up your skill, you just basically need to get a lot of ingredients and create a ton of potions, no matter what they are.

ya it's my biggest money maker ..but I've also used some because they're indespensible ...like the chameleon potion ..can walk by anyone undetected ..saved my ass a number of times

just wait till you make invisibility potions D:

the restore health and magika potions are my favorite, all the other ones I just seem to sell

I get a ton of fatigue potions

btw do you know which ingredient goes with the Ada(something) Fly cap? it's a mushroom that seems to be everywhere ...I have 53 of them and cant seem to find something that is readily available that compliments it well

btw I'm still only level 9, what level are you at? ...this game will take me forever to finish

OMFG OLD NEW NUB!!!!! ( http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1838378&postcount=14 )
just kidding, yeah it's pretty handy.... alchemy is kinda pointless with my mage though, even though Im a master.

I make oodles of cash with potions.... I just have come to the point that I have so much money I have no use to loot anything, and nothing to spend it on until I get higher in my magic schools (currently at 80 or so in each, need 100 for next level stuff)

omg could that have been buried any deeper in a more obscure thread?

/me stabs Mr. Redundant when he's not looking ;)

yes, yes it could have.... you don't know me very well!

all I need to know is that when I sink my assassins knife..

I really need to take a break from the assassin quests ..soon I'll be stalking my co-workers waiting for them to walk into a dark lonely corner...

heheh, yeah I use the fly amnita caps or whatevers for most of my restore health potions (if I'm thinking of the right ones). You have to have a certain alchemy level to see all the effects of the potions though.

yeah I thought the DB quest line was the best of the bunch, the dead drops were kinda boring because it was so abrupt getting quests from text rather than vocals heh, but best quest cluster so far imo.

finished the mage/DB stuff, next up is the fighter stuff. then the shrines, then I guess I should get onto closing some oblivion gates heh.

For leveling alchemy, here are my two preferred ways of doing it . . .

Go from one mages guild to the next, looting all food items from tables/barels/etc - they have a LOT & you won't get in trouble for it (assuming you're a member). They also have novice-level equipment which you can steal and drop at your lesiure. Just mix whatever will mix - not worrying about whatever it makes. Sell the potions.

What I usually do with all excess ingredients is drop them right inside the entrance of whatever mages guild I'm currently at. About 3-4 days later, you can come back and loot the entire guild AGAIN.

Another great place to get ingredients is the arcane university - around the back there are tons of different flowers and mushrooms.

The only time I make potions is to sell them, I looove making damage health potions though, they are sooo useful, I made like 20 of them and poison every single sword + arrow I kill with.

hehe that's what I did, except I joind all factions (because all factions have stuff laying around)...

wish I had just done the mage quest line though, because once you reach the highest rank (Arch-Mage)

***********************SPOILER***************************

you get an enchanted chest in your private quarters, that when you put 1 of an ingredient, and come back in 24 game hours/rest/sleep for 24 game hours, the ingredient has a stack of 11+
