I liked the effects, I liked the guy in the chair, I liked Ripley, I liked the android chick, I thought the dialogue was quite good, the story had weaknesses, yes but it wasn't all that crap. Overall, it was definitely decent.

Ripley had no business even being in the story and was a weak way to bring back the Aliens. I will agree that some of the effects were nice, but the creature design ripped the creature away from it's biomechanical Giger design and made them look like shit which has continued on into the AvP films. The dialogue was one of the things that pissed me off the most, especially the Jokey Jokey atmosphere between the characters when they were facing imminent doom. Winona was okay and if they had developed her character a bit more and made her stronger she could have certainly held up the need for a strong female lead in this movie without having to bring back Ripley.
I would never describe this movie as decent, especially not in relation to the other 3 movies in the series.
Though it is better than AvP. I have also watched it more than once which makes me some sort of idiot for watching a film I wasn't that happy with. .


EDIT: Also, the newborn. An instant qualification for suckage.

Resurrection felt like it was ripped out of an Aliens comic book and there's nothing bad about that really.
It was entertaining.

Alien 3 was dull, lifeless, and lacked any sort of personality.
