I call it, the "sphere of fear", no, "the deathticle!" :D

Not in this forum it ain't.

Oh and welcome to Off-Topic...enjoy your stay.

Spere O' Fear! Planet Death! Giant Hurt Ball! Deathtical! (May be some missin/wrong order/wrongly worded)

I hate disordered websites, if you want us to believe the shite you are typing, at least make it user-friendly

Quick to slag off quite an interesting link guys.

A lot of it's a load of crap, but it does raise some questions. Certainly, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for anything about this in the news.

I think this article suffers a lot in that it can raise some interesting theories and discuss the possibilities, but instead resorts to:

Iapetus is not one of the normal “moons” of Saturn -- but is actually a 900-mile-wide, manufactured, ancient world-sized spaceship ... created under 1/40th terrestrial gravity according to a fractally apparent, “tetrahedral” pattern!

Nothing else makes sense.

Just cause its the off-topic section doesn't mean you can just spam a thread for the fun of it Tr0n. Or do you think the only serious section is the politics one? *goes to look* hmmm right, dead serious over there between all those flames and insults and other crap :p

It's not that, its the general attitude (a few posts) assuming general offtopic = somewhere to spam/flame and never post seriously.

Why if I were a mod *wags finger in comical fashion* :p hehe

Well thats not what I was meaning...like everyone jokes around a lot in OT.

You can joke around about topics and not spam....Kinda like what we are doing now.

I'm not saying this is a place to flame and start shit and so on.

Yep. Not buying it for a second. I really don't see any of the stuff they're talking about, save the wall (which doesn't seem geometrically compex OR regular) and the thing at the bottom.

Conspiracy theorists ahoy! Man the port sensebility guns! Disengage the extreme sarcasm device!

So someone comes in a posts a link to a website that you all disagree with, so you spam his thread with rubbish remarks *points finger at Tron, Shens, Hazar, etc* If you don't like what the topic says, don't post in it.

Now then, i will post the first real post of this bloody thread.

The website says that Arthur C Clarke knew about the appearance of the moon before Voyager, etc, is this correct, and if so, how? The website does take random passages from his book, so i suppose you could do the same with the bible, add some random code to it, and start telling future? But it seems to be quite interesting, especially in what the website hints at.

Its a good theory. Maybe its a big mistake, maybe "aliens" had something to do with it. Unfortunately we just have to deal with the fact that were never going to find out in our lifetime.

Althogh dont these point-dexter scientists say that theres more chance of there being life somewhere out there than theres no chance.

Richard C. Hoagland is a bit cracked, but you can't say his info isn't interesting. If nothing else, he's pointed out something that should at least strike you as interesting. Why would there be a gigantic ridge all around a planet? And if you go on to part two, he presents evidence that the moon might be a geometric solid.

Hoagland comes to conclusions about aliens far too readily, but that doesn't mean he doesn't point out some interesting evidence.

It might have something to do with the internal structure of the planet being liquid and having 2 opposing currents, forcing the two sides of the planet together and creating, long since died out, volcanoes. Whatever it is, it does look...interesting to say the least.

Some of this stuff is interesting:
Deathstar-29.jpg

You have to admit that is somewhat bizarre. Why would the satellite have flat edges?

Bad photoshop skills? :P

Why wouldn't it have edges like that?

I like how they've called it the "death star" already. We're really optimistic about aliens aren't we.

I think most normal rocks have...I dunno...round edges that show no apparent pattern.

Or maybe I'm just weird.

You got a thing against straight rocks?

Space is filled with odd things. Things we can't explain. However, I think that this "structure" is just a moon with unique characteristics. All the planets and moons in our solar system have different characteristics. It just happens that this moon has unusual structures. The truth is that we don't know how and why that moon formed. That ring around its surface could have been formed, violently, while the solar system was evolving.

This kind of stuff makes people like me (someone who seriously believes in aliens) look bad. People shouldn't go looking for any kind of anomaly in the solar system and claim that it was made by ETs.

Right. It could be aliens, just because it's a logical possibility that we can't rule out yet, but that doesn't mean we should assume it's aliens. That kind of thinking doesn't get us very far at all.

Really, you've gotta stop blaming other people. They didn't cause your acne and greasy hair :P

I do agree somewhat though. The universe is full of crazy stuff, and as far as most people can guess, we really haven't seen a fraction of it. Who knows what could exist? What if our ideas of physics and the way the universe works only apply to our small part of it...

"We come in peace" - :borg:
"Err what is it sir?"
"We come in peace"
"Reckon it's human?" :smoking:
"P.E.A.C.E - what does it spell Peace!" - :borg:
"Intergalactic cheerleaders!?" -
"PEACE."
"I think it's trying to communicate" -
"WE COME IN PEACE." - :borg:
"Quick! Let's not give it chance to - !" - :sniper:

:borg: = :x

"Is it dead?" "yes sir."
"A job well done soldier."
"Mmm sir, i think you just started a galactic war."
"Goody!" - :sniper:

Ahem, yes, well

Nukes! the only welcome you can be sure of to really add that flame to a relationship

In fact, I saw we nuke this new discovery to see if we can shed some light on the situation. If it shows up some aliens, then send some more nukes to show how advanced we are. Then if things go sour, just keep throwing nukes at them....and if all else fails, we can always nuke the sun. Or uh...de-nuke the sun or something.

They already know about our nukes!
