These are my favorites, listed in the order they appeared in wiki's list. I haven't tried a few of the SF games, including SF4, however.

Ryu
Birdie
Sagat
Blanka
E. Honda
Guile
Dhalsim
M. Bison
Fei Long
Dee Jay
Sodom
Rolento
Cody
Karin
Dudley
Hugo Andore

My best character is E. Honda. Rolento and Hugo I never really used very much, but they seemed pretty fun.

Is it really even a favorite anymore if you have 17? If someone says "What's your favorite ice cream?" you don't list 17 of them. At least I wouldn't... I'd just say "Yo mamma" and leave it at that.

I don't understand what the hell is going on here.

This thread makes me vomit blood.

Boringly i'm going for Ryu as no.1. He was my main right from the start - from arcade to home console and back to arcade. On holdiay as a kid I did Dragon Punches under a waterful and pretended i'd just one The World Warrior tournament. He's the man.

After Ryu it's Abel, my new main. Not only is Abel a ****ing beast, he's the most interesting SF character to play.

Probably that one character who hits stuff while making silly noises.

E. Honda, period..., fat, quick punches and will eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

True, but this is from a lot of different games. If they aren't in my list of favorites, then I don't like them. DUH!

So basically, I listed all the ones I like and use. And that's what I expect other street fighter fans to do. :stare:

I do list my best character - E. Honda, so he's obviously my most favored player. But I didn't really want to say he's my favorite character, because that's not really true.

What happened was that the computer controlled Honda seemed to have all the right moves to stop any attack, and he would constantly give me trouble. So I decided to try him...

And so I mastered him back in like 1991, and when brand new Street Fighter games come out, I always seemed to have a huge advantage against other players when using him, so I stuck with him, and thus I got even better.

So what makes him my favorite is because I win lots. Winning is fun. The End.

can you believe someone asked me if anyone burned my avatar yet?...how mean...teh noob does not like that

This is not a spam thread or a chat room; please, save that discussion for somewhere where it would make sense to discuss it - a thread on avatars, furries, or newbies, for example. You can make a thread if you wish to introduce yourself. I recommend it.

I always chose Chun Li, but I've never particularly liked the selection in Street Fighter anyway.

Boringly, Ryu. But Dee Jay and Balrog ranks up there pretty high. Also Sagat, just because he's a massive brute. Also Akuma. So if I had to put numbers on them:

1. Balrog
2. Ryu
3. Akuma
4. Dee Jay
5. Sagat

HUGO CAN GET OUT WHAT IS THAT GET YOUR ASS OUT OF MY FACE

I never had any real affinity for Street Fighter characters.

EXCEPT M. BISON

**Thread Hijack Initiated**

Give me TJ Combo from Killer Instinct & I'll fight all of you.
Either one at a time or all together. It makes no difference to me. You will all fail. Period.

From SSFII, I liked Fei Long - but Dee Jay was my 2nd fav. Balrog can be fun, but some of his moves seemed to require 11 fingers. Also, they've always had problems balancing him with the others. He's often been easy to exploit weakness in. Trip Trip Trip*

I hope they will bring SuperSF4 to the PC.

Yeah me too. There is no question I will be buying it for whatever it comes out on first (or splitting it with a friend), but I just enjoy gaming on the PC better, even if I'm not stuck with a crappy gamepad controller (I have an arcade stick).

Heh, used to kick my friends ass with Ibuki (student by day! classy ninja by night!) just for the QQs. I loved Sakura's multi-hit SRKs in SFA3, too.

Sadly, though, my main is Ryu.

Yawn, Ryu, the pretentious windbag that he is.

I've got a Tournament Stick I use for SF - I've had to replace most of the cherry switches a couple times each. I ended up like taking the switches out of the select button and other buttons that SF doesn't use.

They must have been the cheapest kind that came in the controller, but my brother gave me a couple that still work.

Stop wasting your money buying new arcade sticks, people - fix them yourself. No problem.

SF's got such an amazing cast that there are few if any that I DON'T like. I'm going to limit it to one per game, though (which is already pretty damn difficult).

Street Fighter

It was a toss up between Eagle and Retsu, but I've gotta go with the killer queen. A blatant copy of Freddie Mercury who beats the crap out of you with sticks; in CvS2 I had a "People with Sticks" team that consisted of Eagle, Rolento, and Maki, and Eagle was always my R2. He's just so versatile: his Canterbury blue counters, Liverpool white hops projectiles and brings you in close, he's got great pokes and combo madness.

Street Fighter 2

Ryu. He's 'boring' now, but for years Ryu was my guy. Getting off school and heading straight for the SFII machine at the liquor store, practicing my shoryukens against the gathered throngs of kids and teens. Ryu always appealed to me, his neverending quest to challenge himself by challenging others. His goal was uncomplicated, but it required such drive and dedication that it became his entire life. I still admire his character even if playing him has become a punchline in everyone's hands except the masters.

Street Fighter Alpha

KARIN KANZUKI. Oh, how I love Karin. Those drills, that attitude. DAT FIERCE PUNCH. Wicked mixup game makes her a combo machine and her counters and anti-air make her a pillar. She can dizzy you so easily it's not even funny. Plus she's your typical haughty, snobby rich girl, AND SHE FIGHTS. She'll have her personal helicopter drop her off in your backyard just to beat your ass, and spend a fortune to hunt down her rival.

Street Fighter EX

Doctrine Dark, because EXPROSIVE EXPROSIVE EXPROSIVE. Everybody's favorite choice in EX always seems to be Skullomania--who's an awesome guy, don't get me wrong; he's a skeleton Kamen Rider--but D. Dark, man...he's got explosive traps, a Scorpion-esque wire that he can reel you in with or send flames through, and blades on his wrists. He'll grab you from behind and slit your throat, set up bomb traps to knock you into the air, combo you with excel and super cancel like a madman. Plus he poses like a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure character. It's really a shame Arika's got the death grip on the licenses to the EX characters, ensuring we'll never see them again.

Street Fighter 3

This one was pretty tough, lots of great characters debuted in 3, but I've gotta give it to Elena. Elena was the first character I played in 3, even before trying Ryu. I won't lie, it was her looks that first drew me to playing her (dark skin, white hair, scantily clad), but when I found out she was a capoeira character I loved her all the more. An acquaintance of mine at the local arcade at the time was a capoeirista, and he'd taught me how to do a couple things, so when I found out this girl was using that style, she became my main. Even up to the release of SFIV, when a bunch of us friends would gather around the New Generation machine at the arcade or play 3S at home, I always went back to playing her, even if I never quite got her to the level I wanted to be playing her at.

Street Fighter 4

I took one look at Abel and knew he was who I was going to be playing in SF4. I didn't have to see much to be convinced that this was going to be my main. I meshed so damn well with this character when I finally got my hands on SF4, it's ridiculous. I didn't even OWN the game before I was spinning people over my head in tournaments. Abel is such a beast. He may be my favorite male character out of all Street Fighter. His backstory's not much, being an amnesiac clone-baby, but damn, just everything about him. Clapping himself on the face mid-battle, reminding himself to be careful. Staring at his hands as if in awe of his own power, reflecting, "This feels different from the battlefield...I LIKE IT." Rolling up on people throwing them around, giving 'em the Green Goblin kick and stepping in close with those combos. He's so brilliant to just sit back and watch, launching people into the air, rolling, executing falling sky or hitting them with soulless. Seeing peoples' faces or imagining them online when they get hit with it from full screen. FADC combos that go on for days. Giefs and Balrogs not knowing what the fuck when you get 'em with tornado throw. I throw people around all day with Abel like my name was Geese Howard.
