It shouldn't really affect most people reading this news post as a majority of you will already be playing one, more or all of the games mentioned, but I recently contacted Valve's Doug Lombardi to obtain the full details of the retail packages being made available through their new partnership with EA Games.[br]

I saw the GOTY Edition in my local Virgin Megastores today; they certainly don't mind displaying their 35 Game of the Year awards right over the cover :E But then again, I wouldn't either if I had that many medals.

Not source, regular dod :/
Valve haven't ended their publishing contract with Activision. Activision are the publishers of Day of Defeat, whereas EA are the publishers of Day of Defeat: Source.

That ain't much :/
Considering the competition against Halo 2, it definitely is.

I think Tour Of Duty is the Condition Zero expansion pack (Single Player part)

The normal FPS-style Condition Zero expansion pack was the Deleted Scenes. Condition Zero's progression through the normal CS levels with different goals you progress through (using bots) is Tour of Duty. It's essentially a single-player tutorial game for multiplayer Counter-strike.

And the addition of the bots yelling gaming slang such as 'pwned' or 'owned 'em' at each other :p

I've been waiting for that for years and somebody just tells me it already exists! Tell me they call each other fags and attempt to votekick you under suspicion of hacking.

No, that's an online-only feature.

heh, i just saw that at walmart, i was there 2 days ago and it wasn't, i was like wtf cause its 50 bucks and regular hl2 is only 30

how in the world do you keep up with all these purchasing packages.

Rofl best thing all week :D

Cover art looks pretty slick. I was afraid it would end up sucking. It's certainly better than the box I got with the screenshots from HL2's stone age.

If any of you guys haven't got HL1 and associated mods get HL1: Anthology, load up TFC and prepare to play the best online game in existence. I'm not biased at all, ok maybe a little.

Tour of duty in the CS package? That's an interesting choice. Doesn't it have no servers right now?

jezus

no DOD SOURCE stand alone package? i dont need CSS and HL2DM AGAIN!! :(

DAMN U

wish i had a credit card :'(

Have you tried getting a debit card instead? Go to the bank and ask for a Visa Electron.

it is very true that ea is maccin the packages much better then vivindi ever did

LMFAO!

The Half-Life 1 Anthology box looks fkn sweet.

A DOD: Source retail package would be nice though.
Well, it is in the CSS package. And I suspect that neither CSS nor DODS would merit enough retail sales on their own to sell separate packages of them.

So what happend to the Gold, Silver and Bronze packages? Still a way to get em?

go to steampowered.com or login to your Steam account and click on the "browse games" button and it should list them there too i think.

I think hes talking about the fact that the Gold, Silver and Bronze packages aren't avalible through Steam anymore

well the packages might have been renamed or changed slightly but here (click this link) it shows the packages available via Steam.

if its about the contents (meaning games wise) of the packages, then i don't see how theres a problem...however if he was looking for say.. the Gold package which did contain a Half Life2 post card (i think) then yeah...that it seems is no longer available.

Yeah getting the games is no problem... Valve complete pack contains all. But I was hoping that I would get some posters and hats etc etc with it. Is Valve Complete pack only games, or does it contain some hardware, like the hats nd stuff?
