Alright, so last night me and my friend were assembling his computer when i found out that theres a cable missing which we have at my house. So we get on our bikes 3AM and its about 10 miles to my house. About 8 miles later, with no one around, a cop car comes out of no where. Also known as the Carrabinary (idk how to spell but its italian). They stop infront of us and the driver steps out of the car. He says something in italian and we say we dont speak italian (we really dont) so then they ask for IDs...which ofcorse we dont have on us. So now we have to figure out a way to pursuade our way out of this. When you talk to cops you always gotta be respectfull and treat them like their your king, even if you hate the shit out of them. So i act nice and say "is there a problem sir?" He stands there and thinks for a moment, looks at the other guy and asks something in italian, im guessing it was "should we take them in?"

Now...what i dont understand is: Whats so illigal about riding a bike 3 AM???? its not against the ****ing law FSS. The other guy thinks for a moment and have a hard time deciding, in which i realize these guys are just loosers trying to mess with kids cuz they got the power too....****ers

I tell them i live up ahead and then the other cop steps out of the car, he thinks for a moment, he swings the door half open, then almost closed about 5 times trying to decide if he wants to arrests us...but then they let us go. We get to my house, get the cable and starts going back to my friends house. On the way back we were piss scared, and i notice a car was behind us, but really far. I tell my friend to hide and so do i. We were right under a bridge so we hide behind the concrete end, flattening us against the wall so they wont see us. Im thinking im a retard because theres no chance that its a cop...but right as the car appears its the SAME ****ING COP CAR!!! It was about 4 meters away from me but they didnt see me (going opposite direction) i started panicing and hyperventalating. As soon as they are out of sight i get on my bike and we hurried the **** away. Later on they almost saw us again ontop of the bridge. If they would have seen us again they would of have taken us in because we said we were just 2 minutes away from my house the first time they stopped us... heres a drawing lol:

Doesnt these cops have anything better to do then mess with kids? Is it the same in your area?

You ever consider that maybe there have been reports of break ins in your area, and they were in fact trying to work out if you fitted the description given?

You didn't nearly get arrested anyhow. By your own admittion you have no idea what they were saying to each other.

Rav - you really should try and learn Italian if you are living there ;)

Assembling a computer at 3am in the morning...

You didn't help things by hiding from the cops, if they'd have seen you they would've busted your arse, especially since you had no ID before hand and were then hyperventilating in a hiding spot by the road. Imagine how suspect that would've looked to those cops.

The lesson to be learnt here is to go to ****ing sleep at 3am and build PCs in the afternoon.

I saw those guys just a week ago, the Carabinieri. They looked like much more serious cops than the regular cops or whatever they are. What part of Italy were you in?

Evo, yeah i know. Ive lived here for almost 4 years but i still cant speak italian. Im to lazy and tbh i dont really need it, its worked 4 years fine...exept when cops show up lol

i live in the northen part, about an hour from Venice. They do look more serious and dangerous :/ but they do the same job as the normal Policia. What i dont understand is why they have different kinds of police here??? In sweden theres just one type of police=the police, nothing more. Here there is like 5 different types of police :/

One of my friends got in trouble with some ****ers who've lived here in Belgium for over 20 years, but know no Dutch, French or even German. Let me tell you, there's NOTHING more irritating than someone who comes to live in your country but doesn't even care to learn even just one of THREE languages (mainly Dutch and French though :p). Of course, you're not looking for trouble, but I'm just saying that it just might come look for you.

So you have no idea what the cops were actually saying, yet you assume they wanted to arrest you? Yeah, its not 1942 in Italy anymore. You're riding bikes around at 3AM. THREE A.M. Of course they're gonna be suspicious of what you're doing.

They need something to fight off the Mafia.

Almost got arrested for NOTHING

At least you didn't get arrested for nothing then.

Also, I thought in Italy it is compulsory to carry ID with you and produce it to the police on request? So it is possible they could have held you for that, until they verified your identity.

lol i moved here a few years ago cuz my father got a job here. Im sort of an exchange student in an American High School. They have an airforce base here so therefore they have the school for the soldiers kids. Ofcorse its American only but i pay about 10.000 dollars per semester to attend (my dads work pays). Rather do that then go to crappy catholic italian schools...trust me, when i first came here and we were looking for schools i was shocked at how religious they are and how bad the education they have :/ Atleast in this area...

I love it how you managed to misspell location so many times.

Im swedish, i lived there for 14 years...therefore i put sweden because i dont see myself as italian. I dont want people to think im italian or PM me in italian. If you lived in US for most of your life and then moved outside US wouldnt you still put US so people dont think you speak...lets say german?

in other words, im a swedish guy living in italy going to american high school, which sounds weird

I've had a few encounters with the boys in blue lately, one of which almost ended up in my being arrested. I wasn't, though.

Ravioli, that's a pretty trivial encounter tbh. You weren't even doing anything wrong! Why did you hide beneath the bridge, that's unbelievably sketchy and would be the only reason you could have gotten arrested there.

They're also armed better. I saw a bunch of them with MP5's.

Yea I gotta agree with this. If you are innocent, act innocent! And if you are guilty, act innocent!

A couple of friends and I were walking back from safeway with some donuts. I don't think it was after curfew because safeway was open, and we weren't tryign to hide or anything... anyway, we were walking (I think four of us) when this cop car drives by us. None of us had heard it driving up, but they set off some weird kind of siren that I had never heard before. We all jumped about three feet in the air.

The only time I ever had a run in with the police when I was about six, and I was on a little cable car ride at an amusement park. Being a little snotty prick that I was, I began to spit down onto the unsuspecting heads of pedestrians. They looked up and saw me and said, "hey kid, don't do that!" and a police officer in the park saw me.

He waited for the cable car to come around and told me to sit there and wait for the people I spit on to come so I could apologize to them. It scared the shit out of me, and I apologized to the people.

What? If I moved out of the US, my LOCATION would no longer be US. If I lived in Germany, my LOCATION would be GERMANY.

And, if acting innocent when you aren't fails... run.

1st: You were an idiot for hiding. They would have arrested you no doubt if they saw you and frankly they'd be rightful in doing so because you'd look guilty as all hell.
2nd: Learn ****ing italian already!
3rd: "Munch"? For god's sake, man...

what they say is true

if they catch you hiding what you will say? that you where hiden to dont get found? dont expect the police to treat you like a inocent on that

and if you have been living years in that country then learn to speak it,what you will do in a emergency? hide?

Haha, already in the college spirit then?

Apparently so, but the one I was referring to was actually before college started... but I've already had a few scary moments here
