Woudnt it have been more realistic if at the start, she wore blue jumpsuits liek everybody else, but then at BME she had normal clothes on and then after the shit hits the fan she had a flack jacket and other gear over the top of her clothes? I mean how hard would it be to do it?
 
Not hard at all. Valve simply chose not to. And shes not in captivity by the combine, so she doesnt have a jumpsuit. Shes part of resistance. And everything in the story takes place in like 2 days (unless you count the week for the portal transport, but Alyx was there) so she wouldnt change.
 
It'd probably make more sense, but I really don't see anything too wrong with the current setup.
 
They could've shown her in a blue jumpsuit at the start yes, but once the rebellion started she's hardly gonna say; "I'll get doc kleiner to safety, then I'll join up with you. I'm just gonna go change my clothes, I don't have anything good to wear for urban combat though... damn... And Combine flak vests are sooooo last year."
 
Well, the resistance formed befor Gordon arrived so she wouldnt be waring the blue jumpsuit.

They are probably known for their resistance against the combine, and is reconized throughout. a rebel wears uniforms yes?

shes not wandering around....shes in hiding until you start messing with the combine and then she starts fighting with u, and clothes dont matter at that point.
 
I for one would love the inclusion of a dress-up minigame for all the major characters.

You could have physics-enabled clothing selection system, HDR socks and more.

Not in the beginning of the game. Only when the war started getting heavy did they do that.
 
Where would Alyx get civies? She was never a citizen. Jeans are practicle, the hoody is from BM and the jacket has obvious signs of wear. She has probably been wearing those clothes for a while, maybe every day. I dount non-standard issue clothes are common-place.
 
As HL2 is a real time playing game, the whole takes not much more than 10 houres.
So not much time left to go home take a two houres shower(like my wife), spend two other houres in front of the mirror trying to choose something to put on, then saying "i've nothing good enough to wear", go downtown, come back three houres later, spend two other houres calling friends to tell she found something absolutely faboulous then another houre to go downstairs and join me in the garage to finaly go out.:devil:
So gordon had much chance that Alyx didn't change clothes, or we would still be playing the fisrt part of HL2 somewhere waiting for Alyx to open the door!!!:cheese:
