Am I alone?

Am I alone? This game consumes me. I wake up and one of the first things I do is check this site for new news. I look around on other sites for news, I scrounge (sp.) around for info. I even go so far as to do a general Google search to see if it finds something people might have missed (which would be pretty impressive since news can't seem to hide from the hungry masses for longer then 1 minute.) I wait; I count down the days hours minutes. Right now I'm writing just to pass a couple of more minutes before I can witness first hand the beauty that will be HALFLIFE 2.

Just wondering.

Lately, even though the release is nearing, I find myself less consumed with it. Kinda interesting, but Im sure that when the big date hits, it will take over. Sucks because school will probably go down the drain and I am doing really well right now..

We are not alone...

My life has been taken over by these boards and the anticipation of the game's release.

On my desktop rests BWMASTER's Half Life 2 countdown. Every morning, before I go to school, I RACE to these forums to see if there's any word on an official release date, and I spend my entire day thinking about Half Life 2. When I get home, I pull up a browser and here I am... right back on the forums.

Every weekend I do 2 things: Listen to music and read and post messages here at halflife2.net until my eyes hurt. You are not alone...

It's all good. ;)

Admittedly, next week will be tough. Especcially if there's no announcement.

I am going crazy. Everytime I see tiles or anything with a groovy patern I think to myself, "they must have made that with pixel shaders".

No I am not. I'm afraid I am far beyond the stage of letting simple matters as computergames control the maximum pressure of my adrenaline stream.

yup, even when im at other peoples houses i somehow get access to the board to watch the threads. no games ever done this to me before argh!

you sound like someone who lives a life of mediocrity.. no offense

I wouldn't say this consumes my time... I do frequently come here for any new info (which rarely there is) and to get a good laugh at all the stupid delay threads and 'will my system run the game' threads. I play other games til I get bored and then come back here and read until I want to play another game.. Vice City, BF1942 DC (.4j rocks, but crashes alot in coop which sucks), RavenShield (new maps means more terrorist killing), Morrowind (Second best game in existance, only behind Half Life 1), and Madden 2004 (Madden is annoying as usual, but damn if this isn't the best football game to come out on the PC ever).

But still none of these games will be on my HD once HL2 is out as I will be doing a complete format and reinstall of Windows Xp, SP1 and all the drivers for my Sound/Video/MOBO so as I can play HL2 to it's fullest capability without worrying about corruptions or fragmentation during install :D

HL2 is my life. Other than DAOC and CS and school =P

we love hl2 so much, we drop school, skip class, go to work to save up money, purchase high end computer hardware with our hard earn, couple years later, are we going to regret what we do today?

I have cut off all friendships for this game, I am ignoring my family and have decided to put getting pussy on hold for a few months. this game is my life. indeed, all life. f it doesnt come out the 30th... well, let it be known that all who stand in my way will not only perish, but suffer my eternal tourment.

good enough?

I life in a world full of realism. I'm interested, not obsessed.

And none taken.

...I just have enough time to sign up to a forums and read posts about a game that doesn't consume me!

:)

"Sometimes the games you own; Own you!"

nah cheater. i wont, if no one ever got excited about things, life wouldn't be worth living. so im goin balls out cause im excited, dont care what people think, and this will be memorable for me.

I am not consumed by this game. If it misses it's release date, I will not be mad, I will just go on looking for something else to look forward to.

Got school now, but when hl2 comes out.. there will be a new priority :p

I can't wait to test my new radeon
And as stated before : "We are not alone." :borg:

My life is my girlfreind, but besides that, HL is number 2

My life is my study Mrwhite, and HL2 is number 3

number 2 is classified

When I first heard about HL2 I spent hours on google looking for new scans and stuff. I was obsessed, when I woke up in the morning I checked the Official HL forums and HL2.net for new info, when I went to computer club at dinner I was just looking at HL2 screenies, and so on.

But there's been no new screens recently or anything, so I've kind of lost interest. I'm still looking forward to the game and everything, but I'm not thinking about it 24/7 like I was back in May.

But once I get it no one's gonna drag me away from this PC! *bolts chair to ground and chains self in* Muahahaha! Wait, there's still 9 days left. Damnit. Now where'd I leave the key...?

YES.

oh well :afro:

This fricking sucks, I'm horribly addicted and the game isn't even out yet ; ) I'm consumed by the want to play this game and garner information about it.

Last time I heard your question was from Animatrix Clip Number Six. The guy typed some questions, then Trinity gave em the answers, after that he asked her,

Who are you?

Am I alone?

You are not alone (That was her answer)

And its mine too.

thanks

I have never ever, anticipated the release of any game.

however HL2 finds me living on these forums (when IM not away at school or work) clicking refresh while my nose is pressed against the glass of my monitor, eyes glued to all new posts.
this sucks
its gonna be a major let down if it doesnt come out sept 30th.
I mean I consider myself mature.... well at least mature enough to understand how game developement works, how distribution works etc. and I will totally understand a delay if it happens.

however the fanboy in my will cry himself to sleep at night and smash things in the morning.

Exactly. I fully inderstand how it (Game Dev.) works, and I would never want them to rush the game, but oh god the torture of having to wait even another day. I think I would just turn inside out.
