Am I In Trouble?

I work in a Best Buy and we had a shipment of 100 boxes of HL2 yesterday; so today me a collegue were looking them over and we found a way to remove the CDs without damaging the packaging -- just to look at.

Anyway, my friend had heard a rumour that if HL2 was sold before the release date that Valve would unlock the game!

So, we took all the disks out of the boxes and got on the office PCs and registered all 100 copies online through Steam.

Anway, we just read the information sent to BB from Valve; and apparantly you can only register the copies once. Is this true? 'Cos if so I am so going to lose my job.

We're going to get 100 customers returning their copies and I'm going to have to pay for it out of my wages!

PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T RIGHT! :x
