im not that all to familar with my bios, so are there any neeb guides out there?

also, would buying a amd 64bit 3200 90nm, oc nicley to a 3500?

i know i will need a new fan, for the 200mhz oc, what have u guys come up with?

btw, board recomendations?

a 90nm could easily overclock by 500MHz on air alone with the right set up which would mean 3800+ speeds. You just need decent cooling on the CPU and some very good ram. Im running the 130nm core with xp90 cooler on an MSI neo2 platinum with a crucial ballistix PC4000 dual chan ram kit and i've overclocked from 2.2GHz to 2.5GHz and 250MHz FSB (250x10). If i had a 90nm core im sure i could hit 2750MHz (250x11)

Well, you can't raise the multiplyer as they are only unlocked downwards. You can change to 9 or 8. With Athlon 64's you want to get the higher multiplyer in the CPU if your goal is to OC.
So a 3200+ 90nm (10*200=2000MHz) would be better than a 3000+ 90nm (9*200=1800MHz). If you can OC the base clock to 250 then 10x250=2500MHz while 9*250=2250MHz. There is a big difference.

90nm A64's OC very well even on stock cooling with a little arctic silver. Memory is key as you have to raise the base clock. You can run the Memory at a ratio below the FSB so it does not limit your OCing but it generally is not perfered.

I can update the OCing sticky soon. ;)

With athlon 64 systems dont forget to downlock to Hyper transport ratio...

omg, i dont even now how to get into the bios, i need a very descriptive guide

Bump, I Need A Guide, Like From The Beginning!!111!!!!!1

On the best air:

thermalright XP-120 with Delta's 220 CFM 120mm Fan, you would reach to about 2.8 ghz stable with 3200+ 90nm

and the fan would deafen you... 60 decibels! best get a vantec stealth or papst fan.

i got a asus a8v deluxe,
amd64 3500+ 90nm,
and ocz 3500.

i have no idea how to overclock. before this all i had was a 2.4c, and overclocking that was easy..jsut raise the FSB. with AMD i am completely lost.
