Amd Athlon 64 is out

Ya I care, I hope it does really well, its being marketed towards gamers, scientists and engineers. IMO it will probably beat Intel's new gaming CPU as well.

No idea what this is? Link?

Is it as cheap as AMD's other processors? Or is it overpriced? Going to upgrade soon...so...

Good old overclockers.co.uk have had them in for a few weeks, would of got one if a) There was any point, b) I had the money.

Any point for my uses that is.

Don't rush, the first games to use 64-bit processors to its max will only come out at the end of 20004 or so.

I'm saving my allowance to buy this, 450 CDN right?

My god yes, all 13 year olds should have a 64 bit processor, omfg.

I will...
btw, I heard of this P4 EE.whats that?
Not that I'm buying it or anything

P4 Extreme Edition.Only thing diffrent is it has 2mb L1 cache I think.Toms Hardware already have a Amd 64 FX vs P4EE review out.

On the Toms Hardware review thingy.Out of about 47 test the P4 EE won 32 and the Athlon 64 FX won 15.But!.....The Athlon 64 FX won most of the game benchmarks. Now the only reason why it lost to the P4 in all those tests is because it only has 1MB L1 cache compared to the P4 EE's 2mb L1 cache. So if the AMD went up to 2mb cache then it would have smoked the P4 EE.

So, the P4 EE is better for more things than the AMD Athlon 64 FX, but the AMD Athlon 64 FX is better for gaming?

Correct'o mund'o.But because it only had 1mb lower in cache. If had as much as the P4 it would have won all those test.
