American Civil war in 25 years

If there was a serious threat to our current government with actual violent acts breaking out I think Fox News would be quick to get in line behind our government, as would the rest of the media.

Guess what will happen if a State Governor tries to use the National Guard as a prolonged force for rebellion or insurrection against another state or federal force. First, whomever is mc'****ing sane will give a giant middle finger to said Governor, drop their uniform, and make for the high hills. Second, those who follow in the path of whatever charismatic madman of stupidity tries this will be crushed. Hard. So incredibly overkilled, it's unbelievable. What do they have, 500,000 people? A few planes, some armor? Believe me when I say that except for maybe the Coast Gaurd, the National Guard is, relative to the other branches, the biggest pile of crap the American military has to offer. Week. End. Warrior. And then SFOD-D will go and assassinate whoever the leaders are so hard they will make em like it. And that will be the end of that.

What if states start withholding money from the federal government, this could lead to a drop in the value of the dollar, new economic crisis. Federal government can no longer afford to pay troops wages. States start to operate more autonomously, drafting existing army units under their command etc.

I could see it happening to be honest, I don't think it will, but I think you've too much faith in the power of the federal government to maintain control.

The states would have no legal power to do that.

Are you implying that rebelling states would act within the limits of Federal Law?

The point he seemed to be making is that they can limit the federal government's power without actually rebelling. I'm saying there is no legal way for them to do that, so they would need to secede causing a war, a war they would lose.
