Amzing accident is Half Life 2!! Check out the picture!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to tell you about the freakish thing that happened to me while playing HL2.

I'm trying to fight of some Striders in the later scenes before entering the Citadel, when I decided to make a bolt for it and run and hide. I hopped over a car and then landed on a Strider. The thing was squatting down as they do, and the moment I landed on it, it stood up and catapulted me into the air!

I quickly hit the ESC button to pause the game, got my print screen ready and caught a picture!

Suffice to say, I died immediately when I hit the ground. The Strider is on the right hand side of the photo and I landed on the ground above the 'Suit' score.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I've gotten the airboat onto the roof of the red barn during the final 'copter fight without cheats, due to a physics glitch that caused it to launch itself into the air.

That'd be pretty awesome if it a slightly less wackey effect were the intentional result of trying to bareback a strider.

Hasn't happened to me, but that's pretty funny. Maybe you frightened the strider when you landed on it.

I think that is pretty funny! Never thought of Strider's talking like that. I think I imagine them to talk like gangsters. Probably because of the way they sway ??

I once landed on a garbage bin covered by a metal sheet. I hit the sheet with the grav gun and got launched a mile into the air. I was never able to figure out that one.

And once I accidentally launched myself out of the airboat and outside the map. I think I pressed E just as the airboat hit something

That sounds awesome!! How cool is that!!

What happens when you get knocked out of the map? Can you move at all?

You can look around, but that's it. (I got stuck under helicopter rubble once)

Sometimes you can move.

If you crouch, you can move (sometimes).

it happens to me all the time .. just type "noclip" in console

In Follow Freeman, right after you saved Barney, Barney opens a big combine gate for you under the snipers building. If you stand closely beside the gate, you will got squeezed out. Though it is not very high, you do fly.

In the prison map if you dump barrels in the holes in the ground that the antlions come from the barrels will shoot up like toasts in an overclocked toaster \o/

BTW I cant find the strider on the left hand side like u said?

HL1's engine has a lot of quirks in general, walking your way on top of skybox is nothing new in it...I believe you've seen the speedrun?

Eh? i once walked out of the map... i piled up some stuff at the place outside of the canals and walked up, it looked like invisible patches here and there... its the place before the big bunch of barnacles, you have to stack em up on top of the truck
