An apology in order?

Dunno if the admins will alow this thread to stay. And I do feel it is General Discussion material. But I think an apology is in order. Not from Valve to us. But from me to the boards. I was so convinced, HL2 would come out on the 30th. I had so much faith in Valve to deliver us our game of all games, on the date of all dates. I was positive the rumours were false, and the skeptics were wrong. Tables have turned, I was wrong. I am wrong. Sorry for being so over the top about "September 30th" and all. I really wanted HL2. and I didnt want anyone to doubt HL, or Valve, or Sierra Studios, or Vivendi. And when they did I went nuts. Call it fanboyism. Call it immature, childish. Any name calling in my direction is valid. And for all those ready to go and say "I told you so", Dont! I know. Im wrong, your right. My apologies to all I flamed, pissed off, etc. I will continue to wait for HL2, and am sure Valve will give us the product we all want when they decide to put it out there. Sorry again. Holdiday Season 2003 here we come... :dozey:

Thats not even relevant, he could have ranted on about something for a year on any other forum and suddenly be proven wrong, and the same kind of post would make sense. So considering that hes not really whinging about the game itself, I'd think saying "Its just a game" doesn't say anything except that you're just trolling around trying to bag people.

Heheh yeah well, it feels like that sometimes with them online MMORPG games. So addictive.

I dunno about HL2 though. It doesn't have that "Sony Online Entertainment Addicted Players = Prolonged Profit" feeling about it.

Your wrong Freakaloin. Theres nothing wrong with getting excited over a game. I made a fool out of myself online, and I chose to apologize. Had I made a fool of myself in real life, AGAIN, I would have apologized. Internet / Real life. there two different worlds. Both being very similar, as far as respect, and values, and morals, and behavior. And Trust me Im not missing anything in life. I have an amazing girlfriend, a good family, go to computer networking college, making good money, drive two car, and a yamaha street bike. I go out, party, hang with my buds, get drunk. Trust me. Im not missing anything. HL2 is still important to me though. Far from lonely though. Nerd? Hmmm, Maybe....

We DO deserve an apology. Valve could've avoided all of this if they actually had some kind of presence on the web to keep us informed with the latest happenings, but no, they can't even stick up a webpage with a bit of text telling us the news, they have to e-mail fansites with info instead. Although it's likely Vivendi's falt, but n/m.
