An honesty thread

Ah, Gallagher... I like to think I'm a fair and sensible person, but poetic justice gets me every time

Like that rapist who tried to force a woman into performing a sex act- she bit his testicle off. For once the courts found in her favour, and she was basically slapped on the wrist. Although what the official courtroom statement would've been I don't know... "you were placed under great strain, but in future don't bite off anymore cojones".

I'm not a people person, so crowded areas get to me, as do people who do their best to violate my personal space. As for the general hangers-on who slowly mill about in bottlenecks... well, it makes me wish for a cattleprod.

Ah, this thread has helped soothed my tortured soul- it's all out in the open now :D

You don't know the meaning of that desire until you attempt to go Christmas shopping in Oxford Street.

You really wouldn't like me then. For a well-spoken lad with a large lexicon, I swear an awful lot.

Children who scream and cry in public places over stupid things like "I want a bag of sweets". Makes me want to punt them down the shop.

Grr.

People who are intolerant of other people's taste in music.
People who are intolerant of other people's political views.
People who are so incredibly superior to you that they must talk every minute of their lives about stuff no one cares about.
People who are hypocritical. (My least favorite being people that think it is okay to use the racist remarks between each other because they are of a certain race, although someone of another race is beaten for the use of it.)
More.

I personally get more angry at the parent that says "Ok sweetie, Mommy will get them for you" after the tantrum.

Doesn't it make sense though? Obviously a black man calling another black man a ******/etc. can't possibly be saying it out of hatred. It's not the word so much as the way the word is used.

Er.. how exactly do you even do that? :d Honestly asking. Because in my head I just imagined a gang of neo nazi skinheads firebombing recording studios or something.

Well, you have to destroy illogical arguements and dismantle them in front of the opposition, but I guess if you do this in a factual manner and in debate it's not being intolerant. You mean someone attacking (physically or getting to personal insults) someone over it, etc, right?

I don't like peopel who get mad for no reason at all, and try to pick a fight.
I especially hate groups of people trying to pick a fight, I mean do you really think you're so though with 5 of you're friends around me, and it's not like I'm strong, they could probably take me on their own. But I gueass it's those people who just like the power, and beeing the bosss of someone, and it's irritating how on thier own they are quit.

I hate clique's( I don't if that is spelled correctly), but like someone earlier said, it's just irritatating why not allow other people, does it really make you feel cool and exclusive, beeing a bitch for no reason.

I hate people who are unnececairly stubborn, for example I have this freind I say to him like hey a games is really kickass, he won't even go on the net to see it and doesn't even want to listen and then after a few weeks he comes along and says how cool it is, and he thinks it's kickass. And he knows he is like that he even admits it, to him it's cool.

I also hate lying pretending people, who talk about you behind your back, while smiling in front of your face.

Oooh and hypocrits, don't get me even started on those.

And I do have a little prejudice against a lot of Turkisch and Marokkan people here in holland, cause a lot of them bitch so much about this place, and then I wonder why the hell did you come here, look at how it is in your countries, where your precious imams have a lot more power, if it's so great there go the **** away. I myself or from Bosnia and I came from a war and I'm pretty gratefull for beeing a llowed to stay here and get all the help I'f gotten, and there are probably millions more people all over the world in war areas who wouldn't mind comming here and wouldn't mind adapting to Dutch culture. But the sad thing is that also one of the most friendly people I know are Turkish and my personal experience with them was good, but I just don't like the ones that bitch, I mean if you know that what you want has ****ed up your country why try to have it here, and it's mostly the second generation that was born here and didn't go trough all the shit there parents had to go trough, they mostly know their countries from vacation time.

People that acts like a bully...
People that think they are superior...
People that think they are the most imporatant...
People who are racist... though im a racist...

People who are all talk and no go,
In this guy wants to fight me, he tells me to meet at cafe after school (was in grade 10) i get told things like "hes gonna try to kill you" i got there, only to see a few mates tellin me he had to go home early....!?!?!? WTF!.
Also people that say things that dont happen, like i got this good mate but someone tells him to jump in a get this bike at the botom of the river/lake thing he'll say "no, you do it" but later we'll meet up with other mates and the story would be "then i said....No!, You F*cken get it, you stupid f*cker" or something like that.

Also say i miss a party, he'll try and describe it as the best party ever, "you shouldn't have missed it" "he's not having anymore", come next week the same dude is having one, which is mean't to be better then his first.

Racist, most other 'ist that i cba writing
ummm thats all...for now

I do probably hold an unfair opinion on the "trendy" sort of people (I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about). In my experience, people that are always after the designer clothes are trying to fit into a group everyone considers elite and "cool". They've always been the most shallow, hollow, empty sort of people and haven't ever treated me with respect/tolerance/whatever. I really can't stand them. If I see someone dressed in a "trendy" sort of way, even a total stranger, I start to dislike them right away, and I'm sure painting everyone like that with the same brush like is quite unfair. I generally try not to let prejudice get in my way, but getting rid of it completely is quite difficult, if not impossible.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I'd say I also hold a fair bit of prejudice on bigheaded, arrogant and egoistic people, and some redneck-attitude americans,
i.e those who believe USA is the land of the free, brave etc, think all middle eastern countries (which they couldn't point out on a map if their lives depended on it) are full of terrorists and that the entire world except USA in general is inferior.

Didnt you get the memo?

It's hard for me to respect anyone who has grown up in America, gone to school, and still refuses to speak proper English in situations that call for it. You can speak whatever way you like when your around friends or just hanging out or whatever...but when your at work or school or something of the like, it's my opinion that you should communicate effectively and properly.

I also can't stand people that can't type properly on the net. You know, the people that talk like "i m gunna g[o 2 bed\ and bbl 4 u ppl kthx by", ESPECIALLY when they insist on speaking that way in a debate. By itself, it's just annoying. But when you're trying to communicate over a more serious matter and talk like a retard, then I feel like shoving a copy of "Hooked on Phonics" into your skull.

It irks me how some people try to justify it.

"I talk this way because it's easier and quicker for me to type!"

...And it takes longer and even more difficulty to even comprehend what you're saying.

"Dude, chill out! It's just the internet."

You're right. It is the internet. And our medium for communication is primarily text-based. So if you can't articulate your opinion in the normal cohesive standard, then just shut the **** up before I kill you. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up two new friends called Spelling and Grammar.

yes, when I posted about clique's as one of mine... it is correct.

clique
n.

A small exclusive group of friends or associates.

intr.v. Informal cliqued, cliqu·ing, cliques

To form, associate in, or act as a clique.

It's pronounced like one says 'click' I believe.

Maybe you were thinking of cliche as the correct spelling?

I hate women like my friend's ex.

Hadn't heard from him for ages- bumped into him, and turns out the woman he'd been "in love with" decided to dump him. On Christmas day. By text message. :flame:

Wow, she's such a people person. Nothing at all like a bitchy soap-opera reject.

By text message!? That's possibly the worst way to dump someone. Except maybe by getting someone else to do it for you. Whatabitch.

I find even worse than the "trendy" people, is the "anti-trendy" people. You know, the ones who do something just because no one else does, even thought they may think it's stupid themselves . "well I would love do this, but everyone else is doing it, so I guess I'll do this instead, even though I think it's crap". Sorry that doesn't make you unique or anything, it makes you a dumbass. I hate rapists too, they should have their nuts smashed with a mallet  .

dont forget carrier pigeon! man, I hate to get a "dear john" letter strapped to some pigeon's leg

Lets see. Smelly people dont bother me -- smart people dont either. Slow, or "dumb people" dont hurt my progress in life ...

So, what does?

People who "test" you. People who want to fight you, for no other reason then to feel good about themselves.

Good call. Then, you might not even get the letter. I think there's a lesson here for all of us: Never go out with someone who likes pigeons. Never.

I think the worst way to get dumped, is when she sends one of her fat friends to give yo uthe break up letter.... :x

I want you guys to be serious, I know we all sort of want to joke around with our prejudices but I'd like to get a serious conversation. Its hard to acknowledge these things, so pick something you feel comfortable with.

What are your prejudices? If possible, give a reason why you feel the way you do.

Mine is smelly people. I really just cant take them seriously, they lose all credibility with me. Seriously, it actually makes me mad. I can acknowledge that theres probably underlying reasons or whatever.. but, yeah.
Illegal aliens. There's a reason why they're called "illegal", and I don't think they deserve the same benefits, save education and immediate health assistance.
I don't think they should get welfare, health care, social security, or a driver's license. The only thing I'm willing to give is education, since I believe it's so important for the kids. But I also think they should enter the country the "legal" way like you're supposed to.
And affirmative action is over-hyped.

PS: See you're a content writer now, tres cool. ;)

"These people from <insert country name> aren't supose to be here so why would they get the same rights as us?"

"These people are gay they can't get married like us normal people."

"Their skin is a different color they're inferior to us."

I don't like to prejudice against anyone. I believe in equal rights for EVERYONE despite race, religion, creed, sexual oriention, intelligence, country of origin, or any other thing. I am no better than you, you are no better than me, you are no better than them and they are no better than you. I don't know why people have such a hard time seeing this, we are ALL human we ALL deserve the same rights, the same treatment and the same RESPECT! We are kin, we are brothers, we are comrades, we are friends or whatever you want to call it. When I see people treat other people harshly because of one of these reasons it makes me sad. They aren't subhuman, what makes you better than them? What gives you the right to talk down to them? Why can't you shed off all phyical appearances, all religions or creeds, all countries of origin, and all sexual orientations and see them as a being. See them as a person just like YOU. Apparently asking people to look at things this way is asking too much and that is a sad thing.

That's what I hope for of course, but very idealistic. gh0st and seinfeldrules will probably blast you as a socialist, but I will leave that to them.
Perhaps one must discern difference between "right" and "privilege" when I state my prejudice. When ANYBODY/THING enters our country, they are entitled to our rights as stated in our laws and constitutions (freedom of speech etc.) But what I enumerated above are not inalienable rights, they are privileges paid by tax dollars and society. Citizens of the state paid for these services. If immigrants (like my Taiwanese parents) are legalized, have a job, and pay taxes, these services would also be given to them. As of now unfortunately, illegal immigrants are costing my state (California) a pretty penny, and we're already in debt trying to pay for consumer protection and education (my #1 flagpole, which is why I wouldn't mind giving it to them).
Am I racist or anti-gay? I'd shoot myself before I am. If Canadians or Swedes or Xenians decided to illegally cross our borders, my criticisms would likewise apply to them.

Ok, I appreciate what you are saying but when being so PC about everything how do you draw a line between right and wrong, indeed SHOULD a line be drawn - does this not go against the principle?

I am sorry to have to use any one group as an example but; If it is ok to be fat, gay or whatever then why is it not ok to be a paedophile or a murderer?

Don't get me wrong, I am NOT a paedophile or murderer and do not condone such things in any way whatsoever.

I would wonder how the church can accept homosexual relationships which are certainly not endorsed in the bible yet it can discrimate against paedophiles - as an example.

Obviously it is wrong in the eyes of myself and the vast majority of people but in the same way as the whole 'people who are fat should be respected for making their own lifestyle choice and should be treated as individuals' and PC thing should these people not be respected for making their own lifestyle choice - whether it is a choice we agree with or not.

Should murderers and thieves be repected for having made their own lifestyle choice?

If I am being stupid - why? What is it that makes it stupid?

Who defines right/wrong, tolerable/intolerable?

Do they have the right to dictate in this way?

It makes an interesting arguement about right/wrong, tolerance and social acceptabillity.

My two cents: Make your own choices about what is right/wrong but try to be as informed as possible (i.e. not ignorant) stick to them and do not try and convince others to believe the same - explain yourself yes, but do not enforce your beliefs on others.
