Ok, it is simple, Superman can block a bullet because it has alot of force behind it, so maybe if you poked him you would kill him. So force in their zone (Krypton) is maybe reversed. Or he just smokes alot of weed and is dreaming all this up and one day he will wake up in a studio apartment in Manhattan.
