We're all gonna die.

Does our life flash before our eyes right before we go? Do we become ligers (lion tigers) or sharks or turtles or mosquitos after we die? Do we dream our entire life out in the last minutes of brain function? Do we rise into Heaven or fall into Hell? Are we actually bits and peices of binary code? Are we simply the simulation of a child's dream?

I'm not going to die. God is going to send winged, flaming chariots down.

That'd be awesome.

Death is nothingness. Its simply death, you cease to be.

Its hard to fathom nothingness though. It seems like thered always be a mind, but I cant believe that.

All I can say is we won't know till we die.

I believe in the nothingness myself as well. Nothing else makes sense to me.

What if someone doesn't? Wouldn't that throw your entire premise right out the window :p

Yeah, that'd suck.

I have a theory (one that I really don't believe myself) that human's ultimate goal is to avoid death for as long as possible.

Everything appears to be impossible until someone acheives it.

Don't give in to the odds :D

:E nah theres another place where we all go.

i dont believe in religion tho. i hate religion, and dislike people who try and FORCE thier beliefs onto another person .

Your essence gets beemed to Mars where you will eternally jam with Elvis.

I have two hypotheses. Either a) your "mind" leaves your body and enters the Ether, as seen in those old threads on Out-of-Body-Experiences; or b) your mind simply ceases to exist.

I'm hoping for the former. I heard you can shapeshift in the Ether :E

You die........as simple as that.
I dont think i really need to add any more words.

I don't know, but I'd hate to come back as a Goldfish. I mean, what is the point in Goldfish? They do nothing and forget that they've done nothing five seconds later!

The way I see it, we're all biological lifeforms that cease to operate upon death.
If its possible that our brains can interact with a quantum plane (which is being suggested by a small amount of scientists recently), then maybe theres something after physical death.
But I doubt it.

also, why is this in politics? if theres no specific reason, I'll move it to off topic.

I wanted to die and then reborn in the HL universe, bearing the crowbar :D

I see death like I see the time before your birth: non-existant.
Your brains didn't exist then, and they don't exist after your death either.

your soul moves to spirit world.

to whatever image of your lifetime you want.
so i believe

I thought I'd get yelled at if I put it there. I guess I'll get yelled at no matter where it is :|

I'm not planning on dying. I think the key is to eat lots of microwaveable burritos, and so far I'm doing okay :)

EDIT: sorry for bringing up these dead threads, I'm done :x

Well I'm set. On a trip to Florida a number of years ago, I had a drink from the fountain of youth. It tasted of sulfer.

Funny for a Ghost to say.

dude, that's exactly what i've been thinking, about how it's hard to fathom...

it's mind blowing when you really think about it and try to imagine it logically.

If I believed there was nothingness after death I'd kill myself. I remain firmly agnostic.

there is a small bit of evedence to support life after death.
Some people who have had near-death experiences have repeated conversations that happened down the hall, while they were dead.

This is why humans are too smart, I think. Dogs and cats and almost every other type of animal you've ever heard of, run on such minimal thought and mostly instinct they don't think about these types of things, therefore they don't have to worry, but humans do because they know that they could not think before thier life, so why should they be able to think after it? So, they create reasons to be able to be conscious forever because they can't handle the thought of nothingness...we have evolved too much. :bonce:

Here's another interesting fact....

I couldn't give a damn.

If I die...I die...god willing too.

Emptiness after death is such a waste of logic. Whoever invented that philosophy must be the devil. Its hard for people nowadays to think about that, with all these new-age quasi ideas that come out from nowhere. If you get confused about everything go seek the truth and dont say a word because you just feel like it even though its lunacy. And its true religion can't save anyone, religion was invented and then re-invented to suck out the funds of its misled followers. It is faith that saves souls. Bare in mind that the Devil's greatest deception is that he doesn't exist.

Maybe that was Christianities greatest deception, that he does? I thought I posted in this thread - but cant find the post, or maybe it was deleted? Who knows.

But my view is, like Bliink we are just biological lifeforms. We are smart monkeys who have invented all sorts of fanciful things to make us feel better about our situation, which is kind of crap really. You are born, fight tooth and nail to get your little bit of the world, then fall apart and die. Thats hard to deal with, so with our creative thinking brain, we invent things to make us feel better about that. We tell some of the other monkeys what we have invented, and presto, you have a religion.

Doesn't change the fact that you are primate made of carbon based atoms which falls apart on average after about 80 years. I could pretend I believed otherwise, in Jesus and God helping me and so on - but, I don't.

Its up to you to think about it. But for me it all connects to one another. Did you know that human history itself is wrong? Evolution was wrong? And the dinosaurs didn't die millions of years ago? And Modern Science is digging ancient past to answer new age problems?
Think of it this way: we are biological beings for a reason to fit and able to survive our envirorment. And the creation of religion was never comfortable. Religion provoked the most brutal and violent acts of human society: Cannibalism, War, Persecution, Slavery, Money Making, immorality etc.

Religion was important, it stoped people from killing eachother and unified people, then it got people killed.....

Yeah. Religion is half and half, its the people behind it that makes it tick for the better or for the worst of it.
