Anarchy in the UK

Been posted before and surely you know better than to post a delay thread?

Why has Retailers changing their release dates become such a big issue again?
 
even this particular happening, people getting notices saying its delayed RECENTLY?
 
Yeah, nice thread title, but it's not really anarchy though is it, we'll have to wait for sept. 30th for that:cheers:

If they do delay it for the UK comapred to the US, then i've got other ways of getting it, although i'd rather not resort to them.:cheese:
 
Stupid and repetitive or not, information on delays is sort of important to me. The reason this new information bothers me is because several retailers changed their dates at the same time, and this is after Valve reconfirmed the sept. 30 date.
 
I think retailers are contacting vivendi reps. again :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:
 
Or one retailer changed it. Computer and Video games reported on it. Then all the other retailers changed it.

We'll wait and see what happens shall we?
 
Why did Gamestop change their date, they have stuck to 9/30 (30/9) for a while now.
 
Yes, It's exactly the same as the post on City17.net that someone linked to before.

Game were the first to change their date, then C&VG reported on it. Now everyone else is changing their release date. Maybe these retailers have just seen the news article and changed it.

Remember that LAST WEEK Valve said that they were still on track.

It's no different from when all the retailers had random dates as their release dates a few weeks ago.
 
Are you sure we're not just blinded by our overwhelming desire for it to come out on sept. 30th?

Hey guys...I sent an email to Gamestop and here is what they sent back:

The release date that we are showing on the website is the website that was given to us by Value software. We only put out the dates we are given.

The only word that matters to me is Valve, i dont care what gamespot says, or PCGamer, or EBGames, or File planet, gamespy, gamershell, but anyway, i agree with u commie, cause sometimes it makes me stop and read it.
 
I really think the community is the first to know about everything HL2. If it has been delayed we would know about it first. Simple as that.
 
man i really get ticked off at these coz then it gives me second thought about camping outside my local retail place i aint preordering it coz wat if they gimmie wrong version :(
 
Fragmaster has gotten to the retailers. He is trying to instill panic, and fuel the beliefs of the "OMG THEY CHANGED THE RELEASE DATE ON HL2 NEWBIES". He is their leader ya know. It's not hard to send a fake E-mail, claiming to be Value software.
 
We'll have the same problem here in Switzerland.

Pushed back to november... Hopefully we'll get the US version a couple of days after September 30th.

That's what I think (and it's only my opinion): US will get it first physically (meaning it doesn't apply to STEAM) and then get here in Europe a couple of month or so later.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait...
 
Well, Eb had the Nov date but it has now changed to TBC. LABORIOUS.
 
Both Gameplay.com and amazon.co.uk have the release date set as 30th of september. Gameplay is UKs largest online game supplier so im going to trust them.
 
Yep i still belive in sept. 30. Imho the reason everyone is changing theyr dates is because no one knows when its coming out... so everyone is going with the flow.
 
man, i dear god to hope EB are smart enough here in australia... i want it on the 30th, no later!

i'm gonna go to EB in a few days to try and reserve a copy or something and tell them about this site and get em to read the info on here cuz they're bloody stupid there...
 
It's been said before, and here it is being said again: games retail shops and websites know about as much as we do. None of them have any actual evidence to back up these "delays".
 
They probably haven't gotten any information from Value or Valve Software. Whoever received the e-mail at Gamestop simply replied with a canned response because they either don't know where they got the date or assumed that they got it from Valve.
