I made two sci-fi gmod comics, which have been pretty well-regarded both on facepunch and on PHW. Thought I'd share them with you guys.

Part 1

Part 2

Although you know how much I like them - may as well post it here:

They are bloody amazing.

That was pretty jaw-dropping. Semi-guessed the plot from the start of part 2, but in a good way of course.

It would be nice to get someone to illustrate this properly and have it published or at least given its own website for posterity.

Good to see the OP is still crackin' out the exemplary fiction. It almost makes me want to resume my own writing. Eh, maybe someday.

Anyway, keep the fiction press running, please.

those were really good, thanks for sharing.

i dont know if i quite get the ending to the second one, could be the lack of sleep...

btw, how long do these typically take you and what is the process?

The process usually goes like this:

Step 1: Mess around in gmod for about five hours.
Step 2: Do something creative in gmod in four minutes that almost feels like having accomplished something.
Step 3: Get a random idea based on whatever it was you did in step 2, mull it over for a few days until it becomes a proper idea for a story. Carefully lay it out, plan ahead and then get to work.
Step 4: Make something that turns out almost completely different from all those plans. Abandon it half-way through due to frustration and laziness.
Step 5: Get another idea for another really long comic several months later, realize you have an old comic that's half-way finished and thus would require less work. Finish said comic, be less than happy with the result, post it on several forums and swear off comic-making forever.

I'd say all in all the whole thing can take upwards of one or two months due to laziness and moments of "This is all so shitty- **** this!", but the actual work usually doesn't take more than two or three days at most. And let's just say I work at less than optimal efficiency.

This particular idea was loosely based on a short story I wrote, ooh... maybe five or six years ago? It didn't really resemble this in terms of plot, but the themes of robots breaking free and nonconformity were there.
