This mod I am starting is called Animosity. It is based off of a graphic novel I'm writing of the same name. What separates it from other mods is it's story-- It actually has one. Anyway... it starts in the not so distant future (2020) and ends after the end of time.
It begins at the start of a very different kind of war. This war began from our time through use of bribery, terror, extortion, and humility. It eventually escalates into a huge threat to all of the world-- especially the United States. You play as Sami Bashir(Or whatever you change your name to if HL2 engine can do that). You are a depressed but rich young man. Your wife was killed in an accident while you lived in America. After the accident you move to a secluded spot in Japan.
Dreams constantly haunt you of your wife's death. In these dreams, you are taunted by 4 Titans from beyond Hell. You don't understand them but they always relate to what goes on in the real world. As time goes on you are eventually drafted into the CAEC, an international army ready to take down this unknown army.
After being unconscious for a long time after you get severly wounded in battle, you find yourself in a mysterious place- Space.
This mod is an FPS where everything is seen from the player's eyes. It is going to be very open like GTA and everything is possible like GTA. The weapons vary very greatly.
The main threats besides the enemies on other planets are demons, Stan and his Overlords, the Titans, and every bad decision made. All decisions have their own comsequences.
Another thing is character realtionships- I want this to have a high level of character interaction.
