Anistropic Filtering Problem (please Help)

Anisotropic Filtering doesn't do what you're thinking. You're looking for Anti-aliasing which is right next to it. Be warned though, it can punish frame rates like a bad father.
 
Yeah I think that's anisotropic filtering that's supposed to smooth that out, but I really don't know much about it.

Do you have any tools outside the game that might be overriding your settings?

Or, have you tried turning it off completely to see if it looks worse/different?

yea i tried messing with the settings ingame and on the nvidia control panel and then totally turning it off completely and those stairways r still there in the distance..and then they go smooth closer i get..i also get this white lines
