Just thought I'd "officially" announce this, documenting as much as I will release for now.
-----------------------------------------------------
Title: Wretched Abandon (title to change).

Components: Single Player and Multiplayer.

Setting: Year: 3050

Locations: Earth, Moon, and Mars.

Gameplay: Single Player: Story based linear shooter, with focus on environment exploration (Multiple level paths) and expressive characters. Story will feature three characters to be played as, each with their own goals, story, and game play. Through the course of playing each character the actions of the others will become evident.
Multiplayer: Class based teamwork where players choose which “side” they are to play for, each side having strengths and weaknesses. Balance between friendly and opposing classes, as well as environment balance, will feature.

Short Setting Summery:
The year is 3050. The population explosion has caused Earth to become one giant city, full of crime, greed, murder, and violence. Governments had access to amazing technology ahead of its time, and using this invented the Atmospheric Processor, capable of transforming the atmosphere and soil of planets into livable conditions. In order to combat the population problem an Atmospheric Processor was placed on the Moon, eventually turning it into a beautiful environment. 50% of the Moon’s surface is lush with rivers, lakes, forest and grass, whilst the other half is a beautiful high quality city. The Moon is full of the rich and high-class, but massive political and technological conspiracy theories are abound.
Another attempt to combat the population problem was to build an Atmospheric Processor on Mars. Approximately 1/3rd of its way through processing the Atmospheric Processor broke down, preventing any further development of Mars. Ultimately, 1/3rd of Mars contains breathable air and a supported atmosphere; however the soil remains very similar. The broken atmosphere in turn has created freak weather, with random ice winds, intense heat, and acid rain.

Player Characters: All main characters will not ever speak at any time during the game, in the same style as Half-Life 2.

Goretext (Earth): Goretext is a vicious murder and savage member of the Doomfriend gang. Goretext is the one-man-army style action play, capable of wielding many weapons, taking damage, and being a lone warrior.

Marc Garret (Moon): Marc Garret is part of brutal military under command by the corrupt Moon government. With morals and values removed, he and his team are designed to enter combat with no regard for public safety or the lives of innocents. Marc’s is team combat style play, which fights larger battles with his squad or whatever teammates he has acquired at the time. His team and their skills will be essential for winning battles.

Michelle (Mars): Michelle is a young silent female trained by her father and mother in the art of survival on Mars and deadly silent combat. Completely adapted to the harsh conditions of her planet, she has taken on the occupation of an assassin. Michelle’s game style will be of a stealth nature and quick combat, not designed for taking blow after blow.

Locations:
Earth: An urban wasteland overrun by greed, crime and violence. The world is divided up into “Grids”, and different gangs and terrorist groups hold enough power to own and run some “Grid” sections. Whilst some areas of Earth a livable, some areas are so dense in violence that only the unprotected and foolish would ever venture there. Earth often uses Mars as a trading station, but contact with the Moon is almost non-existent. Earth’s gameplay style will be of chaotic, nonstop action combat.

Mars: Mars is the result of a technological disaster. A broken atmospheric processor may provide one third of the planet with breathable air, but leaves them with unnatural and violent weather storms that can occur at any time. Mars is home to those left behind after development was abandoned, and to those who seek a silent lifestyle. The gameplay style for Mars is stealthy, guerrilla combat.

Moon: The Moon is the result of an attempted “Utopia”. Complete with a beautiful city and lush landscape, one might think the Moon IS this “Utopia”. Only those who pass a supposed “Purity Test” are given access to the Moon. Deep behind the Moons picture perfect image lay sinister things. The Moon’s gameplay thrives off open terrain combat.

Short Story Brief for Each Character:
Goretext (Earth): A well known and feared debt collector for the Doomfriend gang, one of Goretext’s “debt collections” turns into a threatening situation. Opposing gangs are found thriving inside Doomfriend’s territory, and worse yet they are suspected of dealing with the higher order gangs. Strange shipments of unknown technology arouse suspicion, and soon Goretext finds himself into something much deeper than a gang war.

Marc Garret (Moon): Marc’s team is increasingly sent out on execution missions into the Moon’s lush environments. Ordered to leave no-one alive, this is all well and good, until strange enemies emerge. People are action strange, and worse yet proving themselves to be deadly opponents with coordinated attacks. Marc’s team is eventually set on bizarre missions, and the deadly pieces of the plot fall into place. Someone has something much more planned.

Michelle (Mars): Living in an isolated environment like Mars requires one to survive on their own, and Michelle has mastered this. Living the life as an assassin, Michelle’s latest “contract” takes her to a nearby orbiting satellite. Here she learns more details about the apparent “Utopia Moon”. A simple desire to see the surface sees her taking deadly risks, and discovering more than she should.

Short Descriptions of Weapons:
Earth: Weaponry here is designed to be cheap and affordable, yet able to pack a massive punch. Energy weapons are well known and majority of weaponry feature custom enlarged ammunition clips.

Moon: High-tech and classy, weaponry on the moon is not found in the hands of the public but in the hands of soldiers. Instead of cheaping out to be “all purpose”, soldiers are equipped with weaponry to do the job it’s designed for.

Mars: High energy round firing weaponry, this is the home to long range rifles and silences closed range weaponry. Not known for its weapons of high fire rates, this is no problems as the punch most weapons pack is enough to bring down anything.

Features
- 10 Chapters per character, each featuring one to two large "levels".
- Low gravity combat.
- Unique play-style per character and enviroment.
- Well written and playout plot (plenty of twists).
- Limited weapon storage (allowing the swapping of weapons for others).

It should be noted we are expanding our team, so if anyone is interested in any avaliable positions, let me know. Sometime in the comming week I'll post a proper open-positions thread, but if you want to get in early let me know.

A website with much more information (Including each planet's timeline and deeper character/plot details), as well as concept artwork, should be up and running sometime soon.

If you've got input, questions, or whatever, post it here or PM me. Or feel free to email me (my email is in my sig).

This 'in the future' kind of mod again?! Getting too common, IMO :hmph:

Better than WWII and the such. IMO, these future SP mods interest me a lot more than some of the others out there. With the exception of the Zombie killin' mods.

Update: The order in which the project will be released has changed to the Multiplayer first, and with good reason. Expect some really detailed Multiplayer details very soon.
