So my girlfriend just got a new upstairs neighbour in her apartment and the woman is a menace. Last night we're having sex and she starts stomping on the floor right above the bedroom. Then at 1 am, she starts lifting and dropping the table and stomping the floor. Plaster is falling down from the ceiling now. This wakes us both up and it takes another hour to get back to sleep. Then at 6am the same thing. Then again at 7:30.

One night's sleep is gone, and I am awake so I go upstairs to talk to this person. It's a 40 year old South Asian woman. First she claims that she didn't make any noise . Then she complains how she thinks the people downstairs are "fu*king" and making noise all night as though I am some third person by-standard. I tell her to come talk to us if she has a problem and ask her what she thinks banging on the floor accomplishes. She says that she didn't bang on the floor. Maybe she just moved some furniture last night in the lamest lying face I have seen. I tell her to act like an adult.

Seriously. I cannot fathom what is going through this person's head. How does she think stomping on the floor will solve her problem? Does she really plan to be an asshat to all of her neighbours as long as she lives here? This is a small apartment building where everyone can hear everyone. Expecting your neighbours not to have sex is not realistic. Second, since when do grown ups resort to stomping on the floor in the middle of the night as a first plan of action. Also she disturbed everyone else in the building so hopefully the complain as well and she gets the boot.

We've been together in this apartment for nearly a year. She just moved in yesterday. The walls are thin. It is impossible to not hear what is going on in the neighbouring apartments. Other than some odd hour vacuuming there haven't been any problems. Everyone in the building is 20-30 yr old working professionals or grad students.

What I don't get is what she thinks she will accomplish by being a jackass. Does she imagine somehow that she will become the tyrant of the apartment building and lord power over everyone by stomping on the floors? We aren't loud people. Does she think we will turn celibate? I can't imagine any possible outcome where pissing us off is going to help her situation in any way.

It's terrifying if I'm in the house alone. One time guests were leaving our house and he came out and started shouting at them for making too much noise. He's a bit weird.
