Right im looking at getting the 9600 Pro and i have narrowed it down to 2 choices.

Tyan Tachyon Radeon G9600PRO

or

Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO 128MB

The tyan has some nice cooling and is meant to be a good card but on the other hand i have also heard a lot of good things about the saphire card.

HELP! Also if there are any better 9600 Pro's out there that i either missed of dissmissed stupidly can someone point them out :x.
(btw this isnt just for hl2)

Also just having a peek over the forums my computer isnt too great its only a:

1.4Ghz AMD thunderbird
384Mb RAM
(only thing ill say about my gpx card is that its an ATI one enough said:D:D)

This is why i decided to save my money and not get a 9800 pro because my pc wouldnt be able to keep up am i making the right choice for a video card? (I will be upgrading my pc with new mother board processer and ram in the next 2 months too though).

Thanks guys :D

It doesnt matter really, both are just as good. I just like Sapphire :)

But concerning the entire upgrade... If you are able to run HL2, I would advise waiting until you upgrade the entire computer to buy the gcard. It will be cheaper, the 9800XT should be out then which will push prices on the 9800 down (just guessing of course, but I think its a fairly good guess). You might find a cheap 9800 for the same price a 9600 Pro goes for today :)

I Like this one better

The Sapphire one has a little slower GPU clock speed, the one in the link above is a exact copy cat of the ATi made one. 400mhz GPU core, and 600mhz memory(DDR)

WEll, does the shappire you're looking at have the firebarnd ark? (the more expensive one)? Becuas eif it doesn't you'll get the same card as me, w/o the samsung memory. The card is perfectly fine and good, but the RAM isn't as overclockable.

thanks guys :) im not too bothered about overclocking as long as it does the job. The tyan isnt very expensive though so it should do the trick.

MacGraham that site sold it for me thanks.
