Another Doug Lombardi interview in 4Gamer:

Mr. Lombardi mentioned the release plan.
Here is the summary of information of the article:


The Half-Life 2 have various multiplayer game modes.
Lombardi can not reveal the detail right now.

Lombardi comfirmed the delay of the release.
Valve are trying to release before Christmas.

Simultaneous world-wide relase will be made before Christmas.
The game contains resources of 12 languages.

yes, because then I know when to reformat and possibly when to make upgrade plans, enough $$$, etc. but hopefully we'll know ~1-2 weeks in advance

since when was Valve not vague about anything? the modding capabilities, ok, they went into a lot of detail about that, but just think about everything they are keeping secret... and for damn good reasons.... how's that for vague

This interview is just another piece of crap to be thrown into the gargantuous pile of HL2 release/delay rumor's.

Since when does Valve have an obligation to release the game before Christmas or give you a solid release date? You guys think you could do a better job developing it?
 
They are obligated after feeding us a September 30 date for...well from E3 until September 23!!!

Yeah, hopefully you guys will get more precise answers and clear up this whole 'trying to get it released before Christmas' thing.

I mean even waiting til Christmas would be completely horrible, not to mention the uncertainty of 'trying to...'.

They better make a Thankgiving release at the latest.
