Gabe is everywhere these days, the latest interview was with Kikizo who asked him some questions about Apple and Macintosh version for Steam.
Kikizo: People keep asking you about a potential Macintosh version, and your stance is that this is a strictly Windows project...?[br]

Gabe: Well, we tried to have a conversation with Apple for several years, and they never seemed to... well, we have this pattern with Apple, where we meet with them, people there go "wow, gaming is incredibly important, we should do something with gaming". And then we'll say, "OK, here are three things you could do to make that better", and then they say OK, and then we never see them again. And then a year later, a new group of people show up, who apparently have no idea that the last group of people were there, and never follow though on anything. So, they seem to think that they want to do gaming, but there's never any follow through on any of the things they say they're going to do. That makes it hard to be excited about doing games for their platforms.

Good interview, better than the CVG one in my opinion. Damn oct. 10th is so long away..

Kikizo: A couple of final questions about Portal, the female voice that is well known from the trailers, are we going to learn more about her, is she going to become a character in the game maybe?

Gabe: Oh, you're going to learn a lot more about her, and her history. I think Portal's ending is one of the strongest endings we've ever done.

awesome :D

All the hype is building and there is 11 days left. Still no count down hl2.net!? :frown:

One thing I realized when reading the interview he said that people who have played it were suprised at how much was revealed about the story, but in every review Ive read it says the exact opposite. I wonder if the reviewers just didnt get the unique narrative style of hl2. thoughts anyone?

what score did they give it?

PCgamer gave it a 94.

EDIT: it does say it has a very engaging story but one of the cons is, is you want more answers. There were some other quotes on this forum somewhere saying the samething.

So the Portal voice is called Gladys, that's nice. But what's all that about zooming away from Gordon's viewpoint? That never happened at all, if I recall. He was just knocked out by the cops. Though there is maybe 3 seconds, at the start of Episode One, rushing up to the top of the Citadel, but other then that, nothing.

she talks a bit like the Gman only more annoying, maybe thats why shes called Gladys lololers

G-lady ..s

In all the reviews I've read they have commented how there's alot more to the story.

It's Gmans wife!

I'm the Gman, and so's my wife!

It's a little less than 2 weeks too long :hmph: :)

In the interview it is definitely spelt "Gladys"

Because the interview is what we call a "transcript". "Transcripts", (or as I like to call them, sound-pictures,) often prefer to use the generally accepted spelling of sounds, instead of the actual spelling which he might have been ignorant of. :p

Polaris got the exact spelling from the Portal FGD info. Before this interview came out, I might add.

It is indeed GlaDOS. And I didn't get that from the FGD - I got it from playing the whole of Portal. ;-)

You bastard!

Nah, I can't stay angry on anyone who's releasing Minerva on Monday...

Did you get a free copy btw?

Which reviews? In PCgamer they say you're "left with more questions than answers" so I assume that means not alot is answered, only time will tell I guess. I hope you're right though I want to see a whole shit load more of the story.

Well, if there's more story, and this works in the usual Half-life fashion, then there's obviously going to be alot more questions flying around.

Kikizo: I noticed that in one sort of cut-scene in Episode 2, the camera escapes Gordon's eyes for the first time that I can remember, you previously said you weren't going to do this because it means the player feels more like they're Gordon? What's the thinking here?
D:

Either way, this is still epic win..
