as Famitsu's unveiled (thanks, NeoGAF) the first details on Ace Combat 6 for Xbox 360. Nothing in Famitsu's previews indicates there are any plans for a PS3 release, but if we're basing this on the publisher's track record so far, an updated, remixed PS3-exclusive version should be coming down the pipeline -- eventually.

I'm almost starting to feel legitimately bad for Sony.

Indeed.

Well, this means I don't have to play Blazing Angels if I want to blow shit out of the sky.

Hoo rah.

well I am geting a ps3 for mgs4 and the obvious sequels so I hope ace combat 6 still appears in the ps3
but the main problem is that here the ps3 is really fvcking expensive so dam

Sony brought it on themselves. That's what happens when you shit on your fan base.

Bio Shock
Mass Effect
Halo 3

Do you need any more reason to buy a 360?

mmm ace combat, I remember the first one, ive baught every single one of them, and plan to buy this one.

I'd say cookies but I already got one...

If they bring out a re-issue with cookies, I swear to god :flame:

I know someone who knows someone who's working on a PS3 game and they said it's just plain old nasty to develop for. It's apparantly very slow out of the box too, you have to some fancy stuff to get a decent speed mostly because developers aren't exactly sure how to use the SPU(Cell) yet. It's going to take sometime before developers get the most out of it.

The one advantage Microsoft had over Sony was that Microsoft understands developers, or at least they should do after so much time making Windows (they say you learn more from screwing things up)

There are so many reasons to get a 360
Mass Effect
Huxley
Fable 2
Halo 3
Gears of War 1&2
Guitar Hero with downloadable

The list goes on and on. No reason not to buy.

Sony did put out the EDGE tools which are supposedly better than the current ones... Though how much better and how much it will help is still yet to be seen.

It may also be too little too late since most studios are starting to shun away the PS3 (aka Capcom).

Yeah there is: Most of these games aren't out yet!

Sure, I'll get a 360 when and if some of the "exclusives" come out and they perform better on the 360 than they would on my PC (after I have upgraded for Crysis and potentially Alan Wake and Bioshock and the eventual Dragon Age), but right now I have no desire to spend that kind of money on a loud system that might potentially fail all too quickly like so many seem to have. Same goes for PS3. (Wii is a different story--I would have one now if I could only f_cking find one!) Besides, if a new and better version of the 360 comes out, why not wait for that?

since most studios are starting to shun away the PS3 (aka Capcom).
I think this fact has more to do with the cost of next-gen game development and a desire on the part of the developers to actually get some return on their investment than with Sony's marketing and PR snafus.

That said, this title would be a bargain bin buy for me at best. I have never bought one of the Ace Combat games and I can't imagine starting now. There are much better things to put my money toward atm....

This probably isn't great for Sony, but I can't say it affects me much. I've always hated DMC and Ace Combat is alright but not great ... I would never buy it.

The only big exclusive that Sony has lost so far is GTA IMO.

You're missing out, Victim. The AC series is one heck of a good series, Ace Combat 04 being one of the best ever (the story telling is just awesome).

However, I don't know if you like jet sims or not but you should give it a try. :)
