A car on fire has been driven at the main terminal building at Glasgow Airport, police have confirmed.

Eyewitnesses have described a Jeep Cherokee being driven at speed towards the building with flames coming out from underneath.
They have also described seeing two Asian men, one of whom was on fire, who had been in the car.
Strathclyde Police said two people had been arrested and detained in connection with the incident.
The airport has been evacuated and all flights suspended following the incident at 1515 BST.

could it be they were just having car trouble and the cigarette lighter malfunctioned?

I wonder if they were 'resisting arrest' becuase they were on fire.

I feel like we can't live in Britain anymore safely.

I've felt that for several years.

Nothing to do with terrorism, more to do with gun crime, knife crime and anti-social behaviour.

If potential terrorists are going to eliminate themselves by setting themselves on fire in cars without hurting other people, I welcome that. It's probably Darwin-award worthy.

If I were to speculate, I'd say it's the smokers's last stand before tomorrow's new legislation.

Just stay out of London. Or better yet, come to Ireland! It's like Britian except the roads are shit and it's not important enough for terrorists to care (Except the North, stay away from the North).

I thought it was London for some reason. Glasgow's less than a 1 hour drive from me.

Meh i dont worry about it, although i will be in the center of Manchester a lot once I get to uni, could be targeted again like the last bomb that went off there, although that was the IRA i.e. people who know how to blow a bomb up in a public place.

*sigh*.. dammit the world needs less terror.

Tell me about it I was constantly looking over my shoulder because I was at the opening of the scottish parliament thing today.

I'm about 3 hour drive away from London. But I'd like to plan trips there. For example, I want to go on the London Eye, but fear another terrorist attack (like 7/7)

You're more likely to be stabbed or shot by anti-socials.

Terror should be the least of anyone's everyday worries.

56 people died in the London attacks in 2005. How frequently do 56 people die in traffic accidents? Probably that everyday. And they're just as gruesome (such as people being decapitated while driving at 70mph).

Just trying to put things in perspective.

What is safe about the developed world? I mean your more likely to die or get injured in a car accident yeh, more likely to have an accident and get hurt at home even.

Oh dear.

Why stay out of London because there might be a terrorist attack? That's crazy talk.
I've lived here my entire life and I've been endangered by terrorist attacks a total of zero times. I even ride through Parliament Square to get to work and I'm not dead yet. :O

There are loads of reasons to avoid London, but terrorism isn't one of them...

Give some reasons to avoid London please.

It's dirty.
It's smelly.
It's run-down and depressing in most parts.
It's lonely and insular.
If you ask someone for directions there's a good chance they won't be able to tell you because they can't speak English.
The standard of driving is dangerously low.
You have to work your arse off just to survive as everything is so much more expensive than anywhere else but wages are not high enough to compensate.

That should be enough to go on for now. :)

Yeah, but it's good for a a quick break. The West End FTW.

Eeep. So much for moving to London. USA here I come! (maybe in a couple of years that is)

Scotland ftw. "Terrorists" were tackled and beaten by locals. LOL IMO.

Yeah, but it's good for a a quick break. The West End FTW.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic parts of London and it's an amazing city in many ways.
I suppose, really, London is great if you're rich. If you're not rich, you can't really take advantage of the good stuff it has to offer and you have to put up with a lot more of the bad. Most visitors don't get to see the darker, grimmer part of London. It's a vast, vast place and the tourist area is a tiny fraction of it.
But the main thing I dislike about the place is that it's so hard to meet anyone. It's a really lonely city, in no small part because nobody talks to anybody and people are busy living their own lives.

When I move out, I'll probably get a place in somewhere like St. Albans or Hitchin (Hertfordshire). Beautiful towns, and still just down the road from the big city.

Part of 7/4 plot?

493. Beware of terror attack around 7/4 (6/28/07)

Now media reports a poll showed Bush is in a new low. His approval rate was only 26%. I think in other way. Since media is controlled by intelligence, it is an extortion on Bush: Act now or you will be the worst President in history.

What action the intelligence demanded? Terror attacks to justify a new war. Terror attack benefit ruling class, it's common sense.

Quote, "Arkansas GOP head: We need more 'attacks on American soil' so people appreciate Bush

Josh Catone Published: Sunday June 3, 2007

In his first interview as the chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan told a reporter that America needs to be attacked by terrorists so that people will appreciate the work that President Bush has done to protect the country.

Here is another news from ABC. May indicate a new plot of terror attack.

Quote, "Exclusive: Suicide Bomb Teams Sent to U.S., Europe

June 18, 2007 4:45 PM

Large teams of newly trained suicide bombers are being sent to the United States and Europe, according to evidence contained on a new videotape obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com.

Teams assigned to carry out attacks in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany were introduced at an al Qaeda/Taliban training camp graduation ceremony held June 9.

A Pakistani journalist was invited to attend and take pictures as some 300 recruits, including boys as young as 12, were supposedly sent off on their suicide missions."

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/06/exclusive_suici.html

Is it true story? I believe so. It's a news from "reliable" mainstream media: ABC. They even invited journalist taking pictures as evidence. But the whole event is a well planned plot. To justify massive terror attacks in Europe and US. Here is my analysis.

1. To convince tamed sheep the news is reliable,a journalist was invited. Have ever heard that covert work to be drum beaten and trumpet blown? Have you ever heard of that CIA, KGB, Mossad .... all secret organization in the world hold a ceremony for their special mission team? It means: "Please get ready to arrest the men we will send to you." Will a bandit have a news announcement before they rob a bank?

2. Even American citizens have problem with their government in travel across the board, many of them were in "no fly" list. How can Al Qaida send large team to wherever they want to go?

3. Taliban lost its own rule in Afghanistan, Al Qaida run cave to cave. They can't even take care of themselves. How can they do whatever they want in abroad?

4. If Al Qaida have nuclear weapon or other WMD weapon, why don't use it in Mid-east where there is US army Base everywhere? And to transfer weapon and militants to US and Europe is much more difficult and dangerous than to use it in Iraq and Afghan.

5. This news proved my allegation. The leadership of Al Qaida or Taliban or insurgence are the informants of the Western intelligence. They work for the interest of the Inside Group. They recruit discontented people, train them into militants, insurgents, or suicide bombers. We are familiar with this tactic. (A typical sample is Miami terror cell. Poor, innocent, discontented people were recruited. Then instructed by FBI informant to swear royal to Al Qaida and plan attack to FBI office.) In Mid-east, they were trained as suicide-bomber. As you have seen, the suicide bomb target were always innocent people in the market place or the new Iraqi police. On the purpose to provoke a civil war. For the propaganda interest of US intelligence, they now had an education ceremony of the suicides and invite journalist to take photograph despite the danger for its own recruited fighters.

Watch the date of this news: 6/18. After the failure of 6/15 plot, they rapidly develop a new one. I think the "terror attack" will be around 7/4 the independence day. The Feds used to find excuse for the "enemy". And it will be massive suicide bombings in Europe and US.

I felt this two weeks ago. Feds poisoned the food in nearby small oriental super market. I had a severe cough these days. It was a result of food contaminated by radioactive material. The purpose is to force me to the big shopping center to buy food where a bombing will be more justified. I have experienced the same tactic last year. Only the Holiday was not Independence Day but Christmas shopping season. (see "448. Highway 680 pass-over bridge was a bomb target (11/15/06)" and "453. November Surprise (12/5/06)")

GTFO KATHAKSUN!

Jesus christ, who keeps lifting this guy's ban?

Why do American's have the date format of MM/DD/YY?

DD/MM/YY is much more logical.

The same reason when you install programs the language for "English", really is... "English (United States)".

That is kind of strange, Psycho. not something I'd note, though.

Dirty - Yeah, kind of.
Smelly - Didn't notice.
Run-down and depressing - You nailed that one. I saw East-London. :(
Lonely/insular - Makes sense somehow.
No English - First guy I talked to in England spoke English, but I get your point! :)
Expensive - As hell. But your caramel squares are ****ing worth it!

About East-London: Next time I get there, I'm going to find out if there are any stores owned by locals; stores not containing the word "Islamic" on the banner. Geez, no wonder you guys have problems with integration.
Oh yeah, I think I'll also try to count the amount of police cars that drive by with their sirens on.

You know, my biggest regret when I was in London was that I didn't taste Curry Fries. By the way, do the locals freak out when you say "fries"?

Ahh shit! He knows the truth! :p

A mate of mine went to London for one week with some others, within that week, he was mugged twice, became lost once because the (foreign) taxi driver didn't have a clue where he was going and was offered drugs by edgy people pretty much everyday, all in day light.

There is your answer.

Although yes, there are some good places to go for the day, but i would never wanna stay there.

wow, I am so looking forward to goin there this weekend.

people only commit terrorism because they r scared of things that life bring their way

No, people commit terrorism because they have been radicalised and made to think that these acts of terror they commit will grant them access into paradise in the next life.

In other words, they do it, because they are ****ed up in the head, that and they hate the west.

East London is a total shithole. The only nice part (and wow is it nice) is Canary Wharf, but that doesn't really count because it's a corporate business development that is privately owned and maintained, largely inhabited by top financial services firms. The streets even have a grid system.
I was in Walthamstow at the weekend...blergh.

You know, my biggest regret when I was in London was that I didn't taste Curry Fries. By the way, do the locals freak out when you say "fries"?

I've never heard of curry fries...erm, generally only teenyboppers call them fries. :)
