Anticipation thread

Remember september last year? The hype had been building up since the E3 and when september 30th got closer and closer, so grew my anticipation for Half-life 2. It was a little bit like the days before Christmas, back when you were a little kid: counting the days 'till you could open your present. I searched the net for information and joined these forums. I found others that were also anticipating Half-life 2 in an intense way. An unforgettable day was when Spitcodfry paid a visit to Valve HQ. I've never seen a thread grow with such amazing speed.

But then Santa got violated up the butt, metaphorically speaking. When the news of break-in got out, everybody knew that this meant postponement, although some of us were in denial. Months and months went by without any really big news to speak of. But then, again during the E3, the enthousiasm slowly came back again. A lot of new members were joining, and things started to get lively again.

And now its almost september again (the clock just went 00:00 over here; it's the 31st of august now). The release of Half-life 2 seems to be weeks away, with a gold announcement within reach. My anticipation is back on the september 2003 level. How about yours?

Im not setting any hopes for the game now. If it comes it comes and I will be really happy. If it doesnt well, its back 2 the hole I came out of.

i'll be anticipating even moreso. I didn't know near as much in September '03, but i know a lot more about the game and i'm much more excited to play it.

My anticipation isn't as high as it use to be back in the months from may-september. Sad but true it probably won't get back up there at all either. When i heard about the game going gold monday i thought bad ass ill be playing hl2 in 2 weeks, but if that was to be said last year id be going crazy. Love can make you do crazy things, but delaying HL2 can make you even crazier. Sad but true...I hope im wrong once im 30 minutes into the game.

fable, halo 2 and sims 2 are 100% guaranteed. hl2 is likely, but i wont be let down too much if its delayed again.

All I know is that HL2 will last longer than Doom 3 hype, I mean, do you hear about doom 3 latly ?
