Well the people speaking are English, so the chances on them not being native to the language are pretty slim. Maybe it's the filters on the voice that make it sound bad.
 
Just finished playing it, the gameplay was cool. Two things that I *really* hated were..

Other than that, it was pretty cool, big improvement on the first one! :D
 
I didn't read the whole thread, but I figured I'd post some thoughts.

Great mod Romeo. When I downloaded and installed this, my 9 year old cousin was around, and he loves watching and playing PC games, so after I had my first run at it, he proceeded to play the level roughly 8 more times in the same night during his time at my house.

Suggestions:

Allow us to skip the opening sequence, up until we are dropped off from the ships. I hesitate playing this again after seeing it played so much the other night because the beginning gets tiresome after a while.

There is a recurring bug that keeps on pestering me. I quicksave my game, and then say the commander dies, or I die, when I load from where I quicksaved, my game will almost always crash. Usually, I can walk around before it does for a little bit, but if I attempt to tell someone to move, it will crash. Also, a few seconds after a bunch of antlions started to come in and the fighting started, my game crashed.


Also, is it possible to get this to run smoothly at all? I ended up lowering my resolution to 1024x768 from 1280x960, turned off AA completely, set AF to Bilinear, and I still get amazing choppiness. I don't have a bad system or anything, so I'm not sure what's up. I'm also playing the Low-end version, but still, lots of choppiness all the time during the shooting, but as soon as it stops I'm fine.
 
I'm still not sure what I'm doing here to be honest. The game ends sometimes when I have loads of life left. I take it I'm supposed to be protecting the other character but is it the green or blue guy? How do you know how much energy he has? It doesn't seem to display.

You can quick save? How do you load up your save position? Actually I wouldn't know when to quick save! Since I've no real way of telling how well I'm doing!

One other gripe - It's difficult to control your fellow Combine troops. Getting them to stay where they are sent & also getting them to ascend ramps is difficult. Be good if you could create several squads & select them with a single button. That would be good for setting up retreats & covering fire.
 
Oh man! Having to watch out for that green idiot is a real bind. I'm doing okay myself but he doesn't seem to know what the feck is going on half the time!!! I wish he was out of the equation so I could just get on with looking out for my own arse!

...... Unfortunately it seems the game doesn't like being loaded to much - It seems to crash whenver anything happens (When you die it crashes, If you try to select annoying dumb ass green dood it crashes).
 
Totally aweosme fun though, the voice acting is terrible and so is the dialouge :p
 
I'm getting well pissed off with this now :-( It's a great Mod & very addictive but the outcome seems more luck than judgement. And that niggle where the game crashes once you reload a save point makes things very frustrating.
 
Yeah, Romeo, don't take it the wrong way. The game is an absolute joy to play, it's just, well, I hate having to start all over again in any game. It's just annoying.
 
anyone know how to beat the second antlion guard? I set my turrets so that anything that tries to come in through the front door gets slaughtered but the antlion guard is obliterates me.

any tips?

It's more luck than judgement - Sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't! You've got the right idea with the turrets watching the front door but basically all your men are going to get slaughtered once old matey comes up through the floor. Apart from green dood, that is, who seems impervious beyond his stupidity & general pain in the arse qualities!! He's likely to be the only one who survives this onslaught.
 
Romeo do u plan on adding to this mod like more chapters etc?
 
hey, i just got the mod, it's brilliant. But two things : 1) the combine team controls are really good but there should be a way to turn it off, i got really bored controlling them.

2) In chapter 1, i got to the helicopter bombing bit, but commander vesque randomnly dissapered (i thought he died, but he can't can he?) and two helicopters got stuck together so i had to delete 1.

AND IT WONT LOAD WITHOUT CRASHING !!! ARRGRGGGRGRGHHH its so annoying!

(great game though, well done).

Thats bugging me as well. Im' getting bored with going through the same parts over & over only for the game to end because green dood is a bit of twat! I was doing okay on my jack. I should be able to fight on alone.
 
i like the green bloke, i don't think he can die (except for one annoying time) he is quite useful as he takes all the antlions while you run and laugh at him.

There should be a option for "Zombie Troopers Deuce" Where you are in the same base but you have to hold of millions of zombie hordes. The zombies can get into the base by climbing up ramps.
 
Did you guys read Romeo's post? He said never save and you won't crash.
 
The mod needs more build up... more umph.. less "Oh crap I'm gonna die!" mechanisms!

Perhaps it would be best to make the combine in general tougher, so they can hold the line, and then increase the length of the ant lion waves (more fun) and give the player infinite ammunition.

Some are having some FPS problems, but it's not too choppy for me.

Anywho, that's just my suggestion, but I'm not making the mod.
 
Meh, I stopped playing this mod and gave up after I got to the end
where the helicopters bomb the heck out of you.

There's no way to protect against that... :(

No. And if you riun for it & leave green dood on his own he gets killed .............. At least I think thats what happens because I still have loads of energy & the game ends!
 
I wanted to try it but a terribbly low FPS made it absolutely unplayable on my rig. Even the low-end version.

6800 GT
1 Gig Ram
 
Got very similar to you Darkstar, mine was playable- just. Prolly a solid 20-30fps.
 
lol, my 5900 and AMD 2000+ just DIE trying to play this. It's OK after the initial battle, until the 2nd wave comes in. Then it's literally spray and pray... that I can aim quickly enough.
 
the choppers dont need to ---- you. you just hide under a ledge, there is one. but the commander got killed when i did it. You can survive though. But what do you do from there??

I have never gotten past the point where the Antlion king rips through the floor, I think I keep getting killed by the falling ceiling

I just stand back & wait for it to fall. Then stand on the part that falls down! When old matey bursts through the floor ........ RUN!
 
what you do is you make vesque stand in the frontal center of the platform thingie of the second part. He will not get crushed.

I also need help at the ending part
Where the chopper bombs you

I think vesque dies at that part(from the bombs)... which is really annoying.

Yeah, just the same problem as me. I can't beleve he dies tho cause both me and him stands under the ledge of the wall. Is it the way it's supposed to end or should the game continue?
