Any 3d Audio (surround) Not working

When I first started playing HL2 I had great 5.1 surround sound, but all of a sudden, I only have sound from the center channel. Is there something in the .cfg file that I could change to fix this?

I am having the sound stuttering problem with mine. i wish i could help, but i have stopped playing while i wait to see how to fix the issue. BTW, between stutters, i had surround sound.

I have the same problem.. and in CS:S too. really annoying.

I mean, what's the point of having 5 speakers if you can't use them.... *sigh*

anyway, I have a sound blaster live.. I think..

nothin special.

Same problem here. Occurs only in HL2. Other games, testprograms, etc. work well. But in HL2 - only sound comes from the center. Stereo works fine, but... I really want my surround system to work...
