We don't have showtime here so we've watched all of season 1 on DVD via Netflix.

It's a really interesting show and i'm glad they're airing it on CBS. The editing doesn't seem too bad yet, just a bunch of "frickin"s, but they'll have nudity to block before long.

Looking forward to the season 2 DVD's, pretty good show, especially during the writer's strike. Some of the episodes have been unforgettably meaningful.

Thoughts?

It's okay, it gave me a cartoonish flashback

love the show
but i don't know where they can possibly take it from where it is now.... i mean whilst keeping it interesting to watch that is

It's great quality, I prefer it to "The Sopranos". There's a certain style to it I love. I've only seen season 1, any body know when the 2nd season comes out on DVD.

I'm a fan. I thought the second season was better than the first, but then...

Doakes' sendout really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not sure the character should have gone out that way, or even in that season at all. I'm not sure how the third season will be handled in his absence. I think he was a necessary character.

Loved both seasons, can't wait for the third. I can honestly say it's the best show I've seen since Lost :)

Great to see more and more ppl jumping on the Dexter bandwagon. Season 1 and 2 threads were very lonely. ;(

Micheal C. Hall rulez!

That will be all.

Apparently, ITV over here in the UK have commisioned Dexter to be shown. Good news but ITV is a real weird choice for a show like that. I'd of expected C4 if anything.

Still, can't wait to watch it.

Amazing show.

I liked S1 better than S2 mainly because of:
I liked Doakes a lot and didn't like how he died. His death ended up wrapping up Dexter's problems in a neat little bow that wasn't nearly as satisfying as seeing the end of S1.

Dexter is still and always will be the only boy genius.

Dexter > Jimmy Neutron by a long shot. Why? Because Dexter's experiments blow up in his face because of Deedee. Jimmy Neutron's experiments blow up in his face because he is a quackery of the real boy genius. Seriously, everything Jimmy invents always backfires due to some miscalculation on his part. :P

Amen. A real shame. I didn't like how it quickly absolved Dexter of his intended actions. Too much deus ex machina.

Also, there should be a decree that whenever a Dexter thread comes up, anybody who derails it with "Dexter's Lab" jokes should be strangled with a cock.

:|

I jest... maybe.

I read the books before they even made it into a TV series! :dozey:

I watched the first episode and it was awesome but then the recording of the series while I was away on holiday messed up so I became about 4 episodes behind. Hence I stopped watching. I will probs watch on ITV if what AntiPop said is true.

I heard the third book was retarded. Can you comment?

I've seen every episode so far.Michael C. Hall is great as usual. He should have gotten that Golden Globe this year.I definitely can't wait for the next season.

It's coming to itv? weird choice but great regardless :)

Dexter is the 1st tv show i saw and its what opened my eyes to series.

Hardly derailed.

UK'ers: ITV nooowwwww.

Recording it. Looking forward to watching it later (as well as new Sopranos :D :D :D)

NOOOOOO!!! I didn't know it was on tonight and I've missed it ;(

Heard about it, never watched it, caught it one nigh, and was blown away.

I really enjoyed that. :D Though an ''empty'' soul he may be, I'm glad he has a humourous and quirky side to him and not just a rawr I'm an dark bastard face, though he seems to have that, too. I'm just glad it's both.

I <3 Dexter, the best tv-show I've ever seen.

I prefered season 2:
In season 2, the mystery of how the story would unwrap remained until the end, while in season 1 it was kind of obvious how it would end. I think Doakes dying was a great way to end it, Dexter had such a huge amount of problems near the end which really made me think he might actually get caught or that he would be forced to flee, but suddenly all his problems went away. It really was an elegant solution.

You mean convenient. :hmph:

Not that I didn't like the second season. It was very good, and it did keep me guessing as to how it would end. My personal theory was of course shredded in that cabin. Yet it rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning and it lingered with all subsequent episodes.

I can't help but feel the third season will be missing something.

I didn't like it as much as the first two. It's not awful. But certainly not amazing. Considering they haven't followed the books at all apart from a few major plot points which they then put into a different order, I wouldn't worry too much.

I watched the second half of the first episode. It reminded me of Max Payne somehow.

Great show, I started watching it more when the last season of Sopranos started sucking balls.

I didn't regret it either, I was sucked in.

I get that feeling too. They've already covered the main plot arcs I can think of:

-Dexter's past
-Rival/fellow serial killer taking an interest in Dex
-Law enforcement hunting Dexter
-Somebody in his life finding out about who he truly is.

The only major thing left that comes to mind is Deb or Rita discovering Dexter's secret.

Here's to hoping they manage to keep it fresh and continue to keep me roped in

Since Dex has basically given up on Harry's code.... maybe we'll see him really giving into the "dark passenger" and start killing people left, right an center, just for kicks... losing control of his demons and starts rampaging.

Easy to see I'm no writer. But I'm pessimistically optimistic that the writing team wont let me down on S3.
