WGA Strike Thread

I don't watch TV, so this doesn't effect me in the least. I'm just sitting back and laughing at all this as it happens. People get so uppity about TV, many (not here) are even acting like their lives are over. Pretty sad actually.

If I can't have my (more or less) daily dose of truthiness my life is over. :(

meh I couldnt care less, there's nothing on tv that I would miss ..except documentaries but they're usually written months/years before or have already been aired ..oh and news

besides the families going through hardship because of the strike ( :upstare: ) and the fact that my wife has nothing to watch I think it's a boon to society ..I hope it lasts for months ..perhaps the public after months of nothing but "reality" shows will get so freakin sick of it that they demand they're all canceled en masse

I'm more worried about it causing an INCREASE in reality show ratings as people can't find anything else new to watch. I'm much happier with the recent general trend back towards scripted shows than I was with the reality craze.

I fully support the strike, and the union.
It's the right thing to do under the circumstances.

Finally, the strike appears to be over!

Michael Eisner, the former CEO of Disney and host of CNBC's "Conversations with Michael Eisner" revealed on Fast Money that the writers strike is effectively over and that a deal should be announced this week-end. Here's what was said.

?It?s over,? says Eisner.

?They?ve made a deal, they shook hands on a deal,? he replies. "The deal is going on Saturday to the constituents (for a vote)? I think it?s impossible that they turn it down. A deal has been made and (the writers) will be back to work reasonably soon!?
