Any good shareware games?

I'm trying to look around for some good scroll-em-up aircraft/spaceship games.

I've played

Raptor- Call of the Shadows
Astro Avenger
Demonstar

The fighter games that I'm trying to look for are ones that have upgradeable weapons that you can purchase (There seems to be a lack of these)

All help would be appreciated, provide link if possible

I highly recommend Tyrian, there's a full version of it here: http://members.iinet.net.au/~vannevar/tyrian/downloads.html

In story mode you can purchase and upgrade front and rear weapons, buy diff ships, generators, shields, side weapons and so forth. Although it does run a bit slow at times with DOSBox. I wish my old computer was working.

I highly recommend Torus Trooper, even if its not quite what you are after you should try it out anyway. I haven't tried any of the other games but you never know some could be absolute gems.

How do you get sound working in this game? I'm using dosbox and it still doesn't work.

This is a very good Shareware games site: http://www.etc.cmu.edu/projects/experimentalgameplay/

I reccomend Swarm, Darwin Hill, Tower of Goo Unlimited, The Crowd, Gravity Head, Particle Suck and Blow.

See if you can beat my score of 213 on Swarm.
