Any ideas for new classes?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for new classes for TF2

The only idea my friend had was:

Rebel
175 health
speed= medic
Ak-47 (similar accurucy to AK in CS:S. inaccurate after 2-3 shots)
mines (the longer you spend planting the more hidden they are)
combat knife
 
He has no purpose. No AoE weapon renders his health pretty much useless, and hidden mines would be too overpowered. At least we can see stickies, but hidden mines that are invisible cause a bunch of rebels planted them on the point right at the start is just mad.
 
I, for one, am glad that there are no terrorists in this game.

9? maybe you are counting civilian...
 
Civilian needs:
*Animation
*Model
*Weapon
*Need a map to be played as
*Sounds
 
Aside from the civilian, I have trouble envisioning a new class. Nine is so many already, and I think adding a new one would throw the game's balance out of wack.
 
Yup 9:3=3
So 3 types of class with 3 guys
*Defence
*Offence
*Support
10:3=3.3(3)
You see it breaks everything
I don't know what is worse 10:3 or 10:0 :p
 
Someone who can set booby traps. Like a rope that if people stand on, will hang them upside down from the ceiling leaving him vulnerable to melee attacks. Or maybe a hole in the ground which is covered up and difficult to spot, enemy players fall down and die...

Stuff like that.

New classes.. okay. Let's have pirates, and ninjas! (don't take it seriously, think about it, like a concept.)
Pirate: 200Hp has a cannon as primary, a rusty pistol for secondary, and a sword for melee.
Ninja: 150Hp has Shurikens as primary, a ninja sword melee, and smokebombs for support. And a ninja rope, like in Worms, and he can become invisible while clinging to walls and ceilings, but ofc. they are unable to move. :)
 
I would rather not have more classes. They did a pretty good job with the game and i think each class balances the other pretty good.
 
His ship could be a frog from 2fort props :p
 
Don't need new classes. They should investigate stuff like:

Demos can attach stickies to other players (suicide bombers)
Pyro can boil water or heat metal to hurt others
Heavy can attach his minigun to a sentry (as a temporary power boost) and run off without it

I would quite like to see a spiderman though :)

Maybe he doesn't want to blow up his teammate? The guy could still carry your bombs into an enemy area.
 
I thought of new Weapons for classes like flak cannons, a hand held mortar, a crossbow and a smoke grenade launcher where you could get the smoke grenades you shot stuck on people and they took damage similiar to pyro's flamethrower

Like the medic just that he gives ammo.
 
But when you pick-up fallen weapons after enemies you don't have problem with ammunition...

True dat. But say as a sniper, how are yu gonna run out on the field to catch your preys ammo.

Dispenser?
 
But if I thing about 1st section of dustbowl there ale plenty places to get ammo :D and if spy come to visit you you have ammunition ^^
 
Maybe a class that can collect weapons from other players and can make their own unique weapon setup, meaning a player can gather a minigun, spy's knife and maybe a wrench from the ground to use as they see fit, good idea I think.

EDIT: Scavenger maybe...
 
We don't need more classes. It would mostly likely ruin the game's balance.

Yes, I miss the mortar from Enemy Territory.
Good point there. I adored that thing to bits, be it that it was prone to spawnrape in outdoor maps (which, in turn, was often fixed by invisible skywalls between areas the attacking team had to break through walls/gates to get in to).
 
I remember killing sprees from shooting ppls thru roof on that map witch gold lift and truck :p( I've forgotten name :p)
 
Really, the only new class that won't destroy TF2's balance is the Civilian/VIP.

He starts of with only his trusty melee sledgehammer but can pick up weapons of dead guys and use a modified version of that.

Weapons expert

Can do strategic hits on the body like: leg shot slows down enemy, arm show makes enemy less acurate or neck shot enemy takes extra damage over time

and why not have a girl class?
 
I'd like to see the civilian class come up in TF2. As for made-up classes though, I'd also like to see a mad scientist - armed with a plasma rifle and test-tubes of chemicals (which have to be quite different from grenades).
