Any ideas for new classes?

CLIKKY, I was with you all the way, up until the moment when you said 'and why not try a girl class' which wouldnt work, the majority of taunts would have to be changed, making them less entertaining.

This game originated from a perfect predecessor. Now we're getting MMO and CS dumb shits wanting to change the authenticity.

Just leave. The doors over there. Just... Leave.
 
We are argueing because Valve have said they maybe making a new class in a far off update of the game, and we were talking about what the new class might be...

So we arent demanding anything, we are just saying what it might be.
 
Maps is obviously true, but new classes are extremely unlikely.
 
A new class would completely ruin TF2, anyone who was a big fan of TFC wouldn't even think about new classes.
 
O.K alot of people disagree with the addition of new classes but i was just throwing it out there. The only problem with the game is the lack of maps. 6 is good for a start but has anyone heard anything bout them releasing any more. The maps that come with it are superb and i don't want them to rush them but lets face it most of the people created ones are awful. It's still early days for the game and better maps will soon be created (Hopefully :p)

Turbine's good. In one league, 70% of people voted not to have Hydro (cause it's shite!) and 60% voted for Turbine.

We'll get more officials and better quality customs over time, it's all good :)
 
Thought of another new class

Pilot

has a helicopter back pack sort of thing and can hover around and slowly go up. Can also lift and take team mates short distances (and maybe enemys over cliffs) has fuel similiar to spys cloak.

and sorry for my girl class comment a lady friend of mine was in the room at the time.
 
the only problem with the classes that i have found is nearly all of them have a shotgun/scattergun. maybe try to vary it just a little bit?
 
New weapons could be a nice addition. Or other shotgun skins/models
 
Valve said they were ironing out the bugs etc before they were going to add anything new, which I'm sure they will.
 
I do remember in an interview somewhere where they talked about maps and new classes. Heck yes, I want more maps. I want to do more "capture the intelligence" on something other then 2fort. As for classes, they might've been talking about the civilian class.

If they were to add new classes they'd have to add 3, one for each type to keep the numbers balanced. But I say: "If it anit broke don't fix it." I like how perfect the system is right now...except those lags.

They better check the crap outta it and make sure things are balanced if they were to add classes. (I am imagining that riot guard guy being British for some reason)
 
You can't. They patched it with the last big update.

Before that, all you had to do was type "Join_class civilian" in the console.
 
If there is a good and balanced class that can be added I'm all for it, but that would be extremely difficult.

Idea:
A class that is very weak but can use gadgets to attack, like RC spiderbots and helicopters. They'd have to have a limited range though, otherwise you could just attack from your base.
 
What about a class that could use a riot shield or something similar, that teamates could get behind and be protected.
 
I can imagine 5 or so of those lined up with Demomen behind them, a friggin artility cannon!
 
And the terrorist class. he has a bottle of mountain dew that explodes the whole map and killers everybody on the other team, but here's the down side, HE CAN ONLY USE IT ONCE EVERY 2 SECONDS!

That sounds fair, rite guyz?

Some kind of technology geeky kind of person who can like set up a radar and you are able to see where the other team is for a few seconds

I'm sticking by the Mad Scientist and his Plasma Gun, Test Tubes and *insert science-related melee weapon here*.
 
If they've been able to put in and balance 9 classes already I don't see why they wouldn't be able to put in another one and balance it accordingly.
I see nothing wrong in trying to improve the game even more. I am all for a new class since I have no doubt they'd be able to fit it in the game.
 
I'm fairly sure that a new class would break the game. But we'll see.
