My friends 14 year old brother said that Half-Life 2 was confirmed to be released August 1st. Is he right? I mean, who could possibly deny the all knowing wisdom of a 14 year old kid?

No one knows when it will be released. Valve has confirmed a "summer release" and that's it.

I think it's supposed to be a parody towards all of those people that say they have insider information and that they heard rumours that Alyx is G-Man's and Gordon's secret love child and Eli Vance was employed by Black Mesa so the truth would never escape about one of their best scientists and a government agent; from their best mate so it must be true. It was all a big cover up y'see. My dog told me.
