There's this new game using the source engine (HL2) as a racing game, I read about it in an issue of USA's PC gamer but was wondering if anyone had any news on when it would be coming out and stuff.

Also, does anyone agree that a PC gaming mag should put all the HL2 videos on one disk (like an extras) for people who don't have a cable modem? I think it may help sell CD's, or it's possibly just too late now that it's coming out in 2 months (hopefully) but i won't argue about the game being delayed.. just be glad they kept quiet about it as long as they have!

seriously, i bet at least a quater of the Mod's posts are from just saying "moved" or "closed".

dammit i shouldnt have saif that.. please dont ban my arse :'(

and btw, all the vids are free on a disc with CZ, plus PC gamer have allready posted LOADS on their double sided DVDs, if not all of them

(UK pc gamer)

well, that would be as much a commentary on the posters as the mods. but i think you might be right.

damnit he shouldn't have said that.. please ban suicide! >:]

john121, how can you insult flatout and its dev's like that?

Flat out has nothing to do with liars or Valve, much less the source engine.
It is developed by Invictus, the creators of Insane, and has some of the best vehicle physics seen to date, Source cant handle physics as complicated as flatout (vehicularly)......

I thought it was using the Havok engine for their physics, not Source for everything.....

I don't think Invictus has anything to do with Flatout, it is developed by a finnish studio named Bugbear.

Played HL2 have you? Work at VALVe do you?

lol, source has some pretty advanced vehicular physics from what i have read.... :)

If I'm not mistaken Flatout uses physics to dynamically deform the car. Source doesn't do that without a lot of extra work put into it.

I hope the dynamic crashing thing works out. Driver 3 currently has the best crashes, but that's just because they spent a lot of time on the damage model. Flatout should be interesting.
