I just heard about it... and Im wondering if theres any difference with bf2 compared to it.

Is it good or better?

As far as I know, the general consensus is that it's worse. But I've never played Joint Ops, so don't take my word for it.

I played it for a while a couple of years ago. It's actually quite fun, the vehicles work really well (you can load buggys into chinooks, land the chinook on a hovercraft, etc) and the weapons have a neat feel to them. The maps are huge (think Tribes) and it's generally a really fun game to play.

It's good fun, I used to like going really far out round the map (like a 10 minute trek) so I could get behind an enemy base and snipe them.

I dunno if people still play it though, but if you can get it on the cheap give it a go. Give it a chance though, it is fun.

Compared to BF2, I think BF2 would be easier to get into and have consistently good times. Joint Ops was a bit hit and miss.

Plenty of people still play it, seeing as the servers hold 150+ players on them.

I just reinstalled it actually.
Games usually last a good few hours... it's a challenge to play effectively.
As the jungle-esque setting plays a vital role, when you hide in foliage you're pretty much invisible.

If you buy it, head here.
Helpful forums, and downloads aplenty.
Although the game auto-downloads maps you don't have, it's a great site.

Yeah I just got "combined arms" in the mail. After playing around with it for a few hours, I have to say its pretty fun. I guess its more of realistic perspective than an arcade experience. The only thing I hate is how glitchy the vehicles are at times, but other than that, not bad. The coop, team deathmatch, and deathmatch makes this game random fun.

Thanks for the info

I ****ing loved the demo of this, i dont think it works any more which is a shame. I couldnt be arsed to buy it..

Had hours of fun with it anyway, the whole feeling of being in a large scale war is great, the best is asking if anyone wants to team up with you, and then going together on a helicopter to the enemy base and sneaking around with silenced weapons. Or doing like Murray H, taking roughly 10 minutes just to get around the base to snipe. Sucks when you die quickly though! :P

The grapihcs were pretty nice too, but I think the best thing was the SOUND. Everything sounded extremely realistic. Especially when you're sneaking in the grass and there's this small helicopter buzzing around above you.

Lol, toke toke
lol

"Hey, man, listen, we... we.... *snicker* hey.... we've got, a helicopte - MAN, listen, we... lol... Wait, never.... *giggle* nevermind, the 'copter is smiling at me, we'll *lol* we'll be fine"
