Just wondering if anyone is planning on picking the game up on Tuesday. I'll probably wait for some reviews first, but from what i've seen it looks very good.

Also, if you pick the game up could you leave some initial impressions for everyone.

I plan on getting a wii for this if it's any good. I played the first two with my brother, and we loved them both.

Ive seen no reason to get a Wii untill now. Might pick up a Wii and a few other games at xmas.

I have a wii and will be picking this up. Can't wait.

If I had the monies and a bigger TV, **** yeah :(

When is it released in Europe?

EDIT: End of October. That is ****ing gash.

Yeh, I knew I shouldn't have bought pal. Anyhoo, MP looks fantastic :)

we get slammed again :(

but yeah I'll get it when it eventually comes out

Hells yes I'm getting it. Looks outstanding.

Like usual, there are rumors of a few Walmarts in the area selling them early...like Friday and Saturday. And, like usual, I missed out. If I get a chance, I'm gonna check a few since the street date is today...worse case i get it tomorrow with my reserve.

Sea, I tend to agree with Matt and Bozon as well. I find it interesting that they said it was better than the first Prime. WOW. I read that as 9.9 or 10 if the game is taken out of the context of the other 2. Since i can't get enough Metroid, I'm ready to be absolutly blown away by this game. At the same time, I still can't understand why they didn't score it higher than Echoes even after saying that it was leaps and bounds better. Oh well...all that matter is whether we like it.

A 9? Holy shit...

Bioshock and now this. I know what I'll be getting for christmas. :O

I'll lend you the game when I'm finished with its awesomeness!
Btw, the boss battle with the huge bird in Wind Waker WAS epic! :O

I wonder what reviewer will be first to say "It's Metroid Prime, but with the Wii controls tacked on".

The mention of the next 2D iteration of the Metroid franchise (Metroid Dread) should be enough to get many of you guys excited. Just read that on the 'Net this morning. Very cool when games mention stuff like this but it is seamlessly integrated in the gameplay experience.

Looks good ill pick this up at some point.

I saw a preview of it and it looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to play it on my Wii.

I'll get it when it comes out in the UK can't wait :D

Hopefully will be picking this up tomorrow. Fortunately I never played Echoes so should be even better for me (although I did play Hunters).

I've been looking forward to this for a while, if you couldn't tell from my avatar.

I'll be getting it tomorrow... Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games, and with the best first person controls for a console game yet I don't see a reason not to get this one. I never did get Echoes so I'm due for some Metroid!

Sea, good review (err preview since you haven't finished).

In your opinion, is it superior to Echoes?? BTW, check out GameSpot's review...it's simply one of the worst reviews I've EVER read.

Once again have I looked into my cupboard hoping to play WW only to find it missing! Scum!

I got it yesterday. It's stunning, really. Controls take a little while to get used to, and you have to keep your hand really steady, but once you get into it, it feels almost perfect. You don't get that shooting gallery feel you got with red steel at all, so I'm very relieved.

It's a much more story-oriented sci-fi experience so far, heavy on the fps-ing, true, but somehow it ends up feeling like Metroid Prime on crack. Awesome.

Haha, I'm glad someone else thought so. Sample Gamespot logic (paraphrased):

"The controls make it a markedly different experience from the first two outings, but the game is almost identical to Prime 1 and 2."

"The graphics are beautiful, but the game isn't challenging enough, so the graphics aren't as good as they could be."

Yeah...it was pretty bad.

Worse, in my books, is how they scored Echoes and Hunters higher. It was a joke. In my short amount of time with Corruption, I can easily say it's blowing Echoes out of the water. BUT, I think this has been a common theme so far with places scoring Echoes higher...Corruption is far better. Oh well. I enjoy it...that's what matters to me.

You didn't like Metroid Prime?!

Are you clinically insane? :)

The first few hours of MP were a defining moment in gaming for me. I remember starting the game again after 3 hours just to experience the wonder and atmosphere of taking my first steps on an alien planet all over again.

What to buy, Super Paper Mario or Metroid?

Have you played the other Prime games??

If not, get the first two prior to play through the whole story...it'll be worth the time. Then get MP3.

If you have played through the other two, I'm surprised you even asked this question!!??

I love Super Paper Mario, but in the face of Metroid...for me...it's Metroid 9 times out of 10.

I can't believe how unpopular this thread is. This is the flagship game for the Wii, people! Buy it and TALK!

Surprisingly, I'm not really liking this one so much... I've only done a fair bit of the first actual planet you get to, but it feels like I'm playing a typical on-a-rail shooter. Compared to Prime 1 this one is just outright horrible so far (loss of atmosphere and exploring are the reasons I can put my finger on... also the flying around bit is bad).

No, it just had an awful control scheme. I hated the way I had to aim, and I hated being constrained by the stupid helmet. It felt overly scripted, and all of the corridors and dense 3d dungeons made me feel like a rat trapped in a maze.

It looked pretty, and had atmosphere, but it was not the FPS for me.

I'm just gonna throw this out there: you may have no soul.

(The game does get a lot more Metroid-y, though, don't worry.)
