Anybody here into JDM tuning?

here is my car u can see i did some JDM tuning 2 it on the front steering wheel

I have a car, and I drive it. Occasionally it breaks and I get people to fix it for me. I also put petrol in it and it seems to cost me lots of money.

What is a JDM?

there are probably like 3 registered users who could actually contribute to this thread, it's too obscure and destined to fail unless somebody says something silly.

My "cool car" phase lasted about 1 year until I realized that I'd rather be comfortable and pay the least amount of money for it. I was very close to putting a body kit on my RX-8 and pretending I was in The Fast and the Furious. Then I saw my bank statement.

I have a '93 buick regal. I tuned it so that the driver's window sometimes doesn't go up when you push the button, but other times it does. I like to keep things exciting and unpredictable. I also tweaked my rear driver's side tire to need to be refilled with air every two weeks or so. Pretty bomb diggity.

Oh, and I also had some lady back her truck up into the side of my car so I could have this big dent in it. You don't see many people customize the body of their car by changing the shape anymore. Guess I'm just old school.

Glenn - JDM is Japanese Domestic Market, basically parts that are made in Japan can be ordered and installed on another model, usually after a lot of work.

Krynn, you should probably check out Tirerack and get some new tires if they deflate that quickly.

Anyways, I do mod my car, but not the performance aspects, just cosmetics.

This is the most "performance" mod thing I have (adds like 20 horses ya dig.)

Asymmetry is beauty.

We put headers and traction bars on our Corvette. Thats about it.

I've not done too much. Racing Beat exhaust is the extent. Next up I plan to do some tuning with the Cobb Accessport and MazdaManiac tunes.

Winter wheels! *Spoiler'd for size*

Nothing I can really do in terms of performance unless I go FI, but I'd rather wait until I get me another well built RX-7.

I've done a shit load of things to my 2nd Gen Eclipse GS-T. Like, I could list them for an entire day, but I just don't like to talk about car parts anymore. Get better ones, and your car goes faster. It's fun to do, fun to have a fast car, but I just don't think anyone will know about my car or care.

I don't think there are any Honda freaks here in the Lounge.

If it's a piston engine, I rarely understand fully. Too many parts \=

NOOO WHAT DID YOU EDIT.

I hate missing it.
No, I misunderstood what you said. I had written "nobody would know what I'm talking about" before I changed it because that wasn't really what I meant.

Then I thought you said, "If it's a piston engine, I understand", and I thought that was a response to "nobody would understand".

But I had already changed what I said to "nobody knows about my car or would care".

But then I realized you said you "don't know about piston engines" (cuz yur a rotary gay). So I said "Never mind."

HAPPY NOW

That's very yum.

You really should start listing shit anyway. I've got google to help me on teh shit that makes no sense to me ;) Enthusiasts love all well done mods.

I've got a pretty cool bike too. It's got red rims.

WOAH G! How do you stay on it with that speed! :p

I'm assuming you mean BMX?

I loves me some H22's, but I'm supposed to cause I'm an Accord Guy. HAHA. I might just swap a J32 in mine if I get the money.

They both have huge swooping hoods, which is all I saw, hence my guess.

Headlights and bumper is different, but for someone who sees them randomly on teh streets....kinda hard. Let me see you find the difference between a S4 and S5 RX7 :p

92 Hatch with a Type R swap

13.6 in the quarter

Slowwwwwwwww

And since the b18c5 was never in a north american car, not smog legal in California.

I understand modding cars, but I just don't understand why a front wheel drive car needs a spoiler over the rear wheels. Is it trying to counteract the massive torque you're making at the rear, or is it trying to balance out the oversteer?

Hey, Civic type R's are fast.

OK, no straight face for me!

The type R is a fast car if you're middle aged with kids. It's not a fast car if you use it as a fashion statement. If you want a fast car, then you buy an Impreza.

all normal cars will begin to 'lift' at high speeds, spoilers are there to reduce this. It just helps keep them planted, wings aren't designed to help 'put the power down' since most of them only begin to work at 100+ mph, and there are very very few cars that have traction problems at triple digit speeds.
