well, I hadn't pre-loaded yet because my computer was screwed up and needed a complete re-install badly. So, yesterday I devoted most of the day to doing just that. Now, my computer is all back to normal and I opened steam this morning in order to purchase AFTERMATH and cash in on the 10% discount for early adopters. When I click on the Aftermath banner at the top of the STEAM Store window, I get taken to the AFTERMATH page. On the aftermath page, there are several options of purchase (EP 1 alone: 19.95; Source Premier: 59.95; and Valve Complete: 79.95). Since all I need is AFTERMATH, I click on the EP 1 purchase link for 19.95 but it just 404's like the page is down or something.

Anyone else had this issue? What is the best way to purchase/pre-load episode 1?

thanks!

The next thing you get after that is a pop-up window from Steam itself listing what you get in the offer.

Maybe you have a pop-up blocker switched on that's blocking it?

I'm having the same problem. I have HL2 and Steam on my old computer, and when I try to preload Aftermath there, it works fine. I installed HL2 and Steam on my newly bought high-end comp, and everything went fine until I try to preload the game, wherein I get the traditional "this page cannot be displayed" message.

i fixed mine. apparently, whenever Steam installed and/or updated to the latest version, the Steam:// protocol was not properly registered with Windows. I fixed it by re-downloading the Steam client from Steampowered.com and then re-installing it. It kept my profile and all of my downloads in place and simply fixed the protocol registration and a few other steam-related Windows interaction issues.

He's right. I did what svet-am suggested and it worked. Thanks! You cannot resist the awesome power of Steam!

ok i did what svet-am did
and i still have the same problem wtf :(

Thread necro from hl2.net staff? You realise that his solution probably worked a year ago, when this thread was made, but things might be different now?
