go read the "info from valve" thread and look for my only post.

i asked gabe about the summer release and if they were using the "strict" usage of the word summer, that is that it ends on sept 22nd. He said yes, basically...

go look at it. it's on page 40-something.

I think I contribute a unique perspective in this forum. It's not really a niche but more like what other people miss.

The sudden change in these forums is dread. That's the best way to put it. Most of these wackos pop out of the wood-works, preeching their optimism, and "hope" just like other wackos who sell hope for $19.95 with a free blender.

All the things I hear everytime there is a delay rumour. The tools of the optimist finding blame in the effect and not the cause. Shouldn't we have gotten an e-mail from Valve by now saying this is a rumour?

P.S. No we shouldn't have received an email because it is an unfounded rumour, in fact we have received several emails stressing Summer.

They should send an email if this thing is true.

Quit being a little bitch and just wait and see.
 
This quote from my free Primiere Issue of Gamestar keeps my faith in Valve.

VALVe wants the game out too, they aren't in on some conspiracy to keep us waiting. So when it comes, we will know that we have something truly great :)
 
And to say it again for all the stupid people, summer doesn't end until the 21st/22nd of September.
 
Would it be that hard for someone at Valve to say "Never listen to Half Life Radio" ? I mean they could at least deny a rumor. Or even confirm it. The silence is what kills me. Thank goodness for all these voices in my head.

They have said 'It's gone to ship in the summer' unless that poster lied about the email. I doubt it though.
 
You know what's stayed the same through all these delays? The fact that the game isn't released yet. It won't be released tomorrow, or the next day, or most likely not for the next few months (if that). It's not worth worrying about; It'll be done when it's done.
 
People who havn't been following this whole debacle closely have no idea how we feel about this. I was following this game when it emerged from nowhere.

I joined in sept. 03 to ask WTF is going on why it missed it's release date. I have allready experienced 3 delays. For some of you people to pop in here and say "It'll be done, when it's done" is just plain RUDE.

It's not rude, someone has to balance the tension... We can't all hate Valve (I don't! I love Gabe!!)
 
I didn't say I hate them. I am impartial to them at the moment.

HAHA! Honestly, please dont be so stupid! Just because I joined this particular forum 6 or 7 months after you doesn't mean I've haven't been waiting just as long as you have for this game. The fact is, everyone on this forum wants HL2 as soon as possible but some of us more intelligent folk have the foresight to appreciate Valve's efforts and know that things just take longer then we all hope. Even Valve would've wished to have released it on September 30th but they made an error and are about to repay our patience.

It will be done when it's done. I might e-mail Gabe and see if he can just give the game to us patient HL fans and not give it to the ignorant like yourself for a few months afterwards.

I have been following this whole "debacle" closely. I've been following HL2 since it was anounced, and had been longing for a sequel since the first time I played the original Half-Life. To say people like me "have no idea how [you] feel about this" is simply ignorant and stupid. I want this game to be released as much as you do. But what does whining about it accomplish? Do you think Valve is going to release a game that isn't finished, just because a bunch of impatient fans wanted them to? If they did that, then the same fans would be whining about how buggy the game was and how it shouldn't have been released. (And if you don't believe me, then you don't know much about hyped-up games. It's happened before. Look at the mistake that is Star Wars: Galaxies.)

The simple truth is, it is not worth worrying about. It's a game. It'll be out when it's out, and there's nothing we can do to make it go any faster. Until then, move on with your life. There's more important things to do than to sit around waiting for it's release.

And just to put things a bit more in perspective, or whatnot, I'll let you know that I've had a $30 preorder on HL2 since before September. I want this game as much as anyone else does.
