I'm not sure if its two words or one (Deja Vu or Dejavu) But i have them all the time

Its hard to explain but its a feeling you get when you're experiencing something that feel's like its already ready happened. The view is the same and even the noises are the same. Kinda like a premonition.

Like for example i always have dreams about them and shit and say i'm riding in a car with my brother and we pass 3 trucks and we drive over a bridge and then he says something. And in the morning i wake up and i can only vaguely remember what happened and when i try to remember what everything looked like it comes to me in "inverted" or "negative" colours like a photograph.
I just shrug it off or soon forget it, but then time will pass and that exact event will happen exactly as i remember from the dream and i will only remember the feeling when its happening. Most of the time its nothing meaningful but it just gives off this really really odd feeling. sometimes i even have them when i'm awake as well.

Like, once last year i was trying to go to sleep and my older brother and my mum where yelling at each other about something. And as my mum walked past my doorway to go downstairs this image of Tobey Maguire delivering pizza's to a secretary popped into my head and Tobey said the line "Here are your pizza's" and then the secretary turns back "you're late, I'm not paying for those" and then Tobey lets out a sigh and un packs the pizza's. This is pretty much the exact same ****ing that happens in Spiderman 2 and this was like 8 months or so before it came out. Like it was the exact same image and shot that i saw when i was lying in bed and shit. I was sitting there watching the movie thinking........"whoooooooooooooaaaa Deja Vu".

Anyway thats just one example, i can't remember any others right off hand but i was just wondering if anybody else has these or if they have any stories of these

I saw a black cat once...

Yep.I have those, it's preety cool, freaky and weird.

Yeah, I get dejavu/deja vu/whatever, not a lot though.

Sometimes things just feel like I've already been there and stuff.

But your Spiderman preminition is pretty awesome.

There is s theroy that it could be one of your eyes that is tired and works slower than the other eye, so your brain confuses you, you get my point right ?

Its : Deja Vú .

I thought it was Deja Vu
Anyway, no i don't get you're point

Your left eye is slower than your write eye, you left eye transmit the Info, it goes to your bran/memory, as you left eye is slower, the info goes to your brain, bit its has allready been passed, so you get the fealling you have allready seen it, we are talking milli seconds here.

Yes, I do often have Deja Vu to give a "to the point" answer.

Good theory but i'm talking like 8 months before instead milli seconds before

I used to get them all the time. Scientists shrug it off saying it's a chemical in the brain that makes you think you've done it before ... but theres much more to it...

I used to get it pretty bad, so bad infact that I knew I had dreamed the events before, but woken up at the exact moment that I realised I was experiencing Deja Vu - like a broken loop of events.

I can't explain it myself but I'm not falling for the scientist theory, its just too real to be an illusion.

I wish I still had it as bad as I did, as freaky as it was, it was also really cool.

When you study advance Medicine, you will understand.

So basically, a chemical in the brain tells your brain that you've seen or experienced the exact same thing/event that's happening now, before? Thats pretty cool. But i've had it so many times it doesnt seem like some kind of mind-trick. Because, like with the whole "spiderman" thing it was months before it happened and i can actually remember having the image of Spiderman when i was trying to sleep.

and i can remember my mind jsut going blank and that image and those lines shooting right into my head

Jeez thats trippy.

I once had Vudeja..... it was the strangest feeling that I never wanted that incident to happen again.

I've been to Deja Vu....a strip club ;]
I've had a couple deja vu,nothing too crazy, just like when someone says something, Its like I was in that same situation before.

I used to get plenty of deja vu's, but now i dont get them to much... I cant really explained why my deja vus happend but they would mostly come when i day dreamed or thought deeply, but theyve stopped usually my deja vu consists of me doing like an action and then i remember me doing it a while ago

I remenber that feeling but has pass time I dont hav other again

Something gets routed through some memory parts of the brain... deja vu... hey, even brains **** up from time to time! :D

It's actually kinda cool when it happens...

I get deja vu a whole lot, oddly enough, it's always SLIGHTLY different than I remember it.

It's also when I'm doing unimporant stuff.. like playing a game.
When I got to the bit in Doom 3 last night, where you find the initial information on the soul cube's research, I swear I'd done it all before. It creeped me out.

it's a strange feeling, i remember having them all the time when i was younger but now i haven't had one in years

Heh, I got Deja Vu a lot during Doom3 although it was because after the first 5 mins playing, you relaise map after map are almost the same ;(

Ya I get those weird feeling of deja vu all the time as well. Usually for me its where I see something, not a particular object but more my entire field of view seems familiar. It seems like I have looked at the exact same area in the exact same lighting at the exact same angle before.

Its really weird but I am beggining to think that alot of deja vu (certainly not all of it though) is related to your brain seeing something and then through some weird almost random process it develops this feeling that you have seen it before. If you think of your brain as a computer its like it sees something, writes the image to your hard drive and then decides to perform a check to see if that image has been seen before. Then of course it sees the image on your hard drive and you get this feeling of deja vu. Its as if it isn't following some sort of standard procedure it usually sets out for itself.

everytime i see deja vu happen i always change it. Like if i start seeing a person walking by with a green paper and i know where she is going. I get up and i walk away so that i dont see were she goes. Or sometimes i just yell out loud.

i used to have deja vu alot when i was younger...and at first it creeped me out kinda.. but then i thought of it and did some reading on premonitions and stuff and thought it was cool :)

i don't have deja vu.. well not as much as i used to.. but i had a few since my days of regular deja vu.

All the time. A lot of times I'm in situations where I feel like I've dreamt about something I just did while awake. It's scary.

I remember in school, i'd be half awake half asleep while the teacher was giving a lecture, well in my head i would finish his/her speech word for word before they could even finish it, it was weird. Yeah I get deja vu all the time as well.

I also get Deja Vu every so often, usually once every 6 months or so. What usually happens with me is that the scene seems SO familiar, time actually stops for 1 or 2 seconds while I go, "Hold on, I've seen this before". Strangely though, it always feels like I've dreamed it a month or so before, and I've forgotten it, but I haven't forgotten ....

yeah, I get one every few monthes or so ..

It's like .. I see something .. then all of a sudden I get the feeling that I've seen this before.

I don't remember where or how I saw it, I don't think I've seen it in a dream .. it's just .. I've seen this before! but where? I dunno.

i love deja-vu's. Its proof that we can see in the future......... :p

I get the feeling of déjà vu a lot. Particularly when I'm tired.

I don't get this, not that I can remember. I don't tend to remember stuff.

Yeah, I have deja vus alot... Like, I have a short "flashback" or vision of something I'm doing with my friends or whatever, or a dream of something, and then a few months or half a year after that thing happens.

Can I complain about something?

Déjà vu is an abstract noun (I think). As such, you can "have a feeling of déjà vu" or "experience déjà vu" but you can't "have a déjà vu" or have many "déjà vus".

Does anyone else think that "have a déjà vu" sounds a bit like cockney rhyming slang?

"I've just had a huge déjà vu."

I'll stop being pedantic now.

Oh go away Feeth :p

Yes, I've experienced deja vu. Did anyone see that Monty Python with "Its the Mind" and they talked about dejavu. That was good.

Heh, I had a feeling of Deja Vu in Doom 3 as well. It's the part right at the start of the game in the docking bay, I distinctly remember walking down the stairs next to the guy on the chair, walking past a few crates then taking a close-up look at a metallic texture. Then of course, come the game, I did it without realising.

I get it all the time, it mostly comes after having various nightmares, like seeing a kid get hit by a car, dead cats in trees. I just sorta stop and go wow, i remember this.

I thought it was the result of something that just happened being stored in your long time memory instead of short time memory.

Anyone ever had a Deja Vu?

Of course; better question: "Anyone never had a Deja Vu?" Would probably be a less big topic :D

I had Deja Vu once. I thought I heard Valve give a Half Life 2 release date, which sorta never happened, then I thought I heard them give another one, which looks like it aint gonna happen. It was pretty freaky, and quite annoying.
