anyone here following the progress of "The Fat Man Walking"?

"The Fat Man Walking" is the guy who is trying to walk from LA to NY, presumably in an attempt to lose weight. "Presumably" because he is obviously just trying to cash in on his ordeal. Almost a year later, he still hasn't reached NY, even though he was scheduled to get there last December.

The last time I checked his website: http://www.thefatmanwalking.com he was still in Indiana. If you look at some of his recent pictures you will notice that he succeeded in going from morbidly obese to obese. His walk will not be in vain though, just think of all the book deals, and possibly movie deals, he will get after he is done with his walk. He'll easily make over a $1,000,000 just for walking across the US. Why didn't I think of that before?

Or he should have joined a weight loss boot camp. It would have been cheaper than paying for the hotels he's stayed at, all the gear he has used, and all the food he is eaten while on the road, and there would have been faster results. Not to mention the opportunity cost of spending 1 year walking. Oh well, but there wouldn't have been a book deal at the boot camp. He did the right thing.
