Anyone know how to improve FPS slightly?

Yeah.. i mean i'm not running a super good system.. but I know it is capable of at least 20 more FPS. Basicly on everything low on the video stress test i get around 73FPS.

My specs are...

P4 2.6/hyperthread.(overclocked)
768 DDR
MSI Geforce 6600 256DDR3(overcloked)
Asus P4SD-LA

If anyone could help get me abit of FPS or stability.. that would be great.

Can i just ask why you want more fps ? Because that is a pretty decent figure for fps and games should perfectly smoothly like that.

Secondly, what settings, resolution, textures, etc, was this done at ?

Plus, what are those components overclocked to ?

I'm running an alright system (nothing to wow at) and am usually playing at an average of 45fps, but everything looks fine to me.

I would kill for 73fps lol.

The only map in CSS I get over 70fps in is Dust. So you're lucky to even get that

If your FPS is that low, reformat or something, I doubt that card should be that slow. Also, try turning off specular / bump mapping.

My FPS drops to about 250 if a heavy battle rages with lots of frag grenades in office, with lots of players. Otherwise mine sticks at 300, max settings cept no vsync and res = 1024x768.

I so want ur fps, when a huge battle rages and lots of nades/players on my setup, i usually can expect a fps of bout 20:x

wtf DreadLord, why don't you play with a higher res? Need bigger/diff monitor or something? I'm sure you could afford a nice widescreen lcd/plasma lol

on topic, I dont know any tricks to increase performance (other than ending unnecessary processes etc). Maayybeee save some money and buy a new rig? :O

I prefer 1024x768 or my HUD gets uncofortably small. I'm on a 21' plasma.
